I’ve got a pound of dried fruit soaking in a mug of black Yorkshire tea. I’m making a recipe from my late mum but looking on t’internet it is fairly standard

Pound of dried fruit soaked overnight in hot black tea
Two mugs SR flour
One mug sugar
One large egg

75 mins at 160 deg C (middle shelf)

I don't like baked cheesecakes much either and only ever do fridge ones - never used a recipe that asks for gelatine in it though - just marscarpone, cream cheese and double cream. The After Eight cheesecake I always make at Xmas uses a full box of melted down After Eights mixed through it!

If anyone does want some rather indulgent cheesecake recipes, have a look at Jane's Patisserie website - she shared this recipe the other day!

I've never put gelatine in a fridge cheesecake either, but I prefer a baked one.

There used to be a popular 1970s desert that whipped cream and cream cheese into a half- set pack of lemon jelly - can't remember what it was called though!

That sounds like it might ruin a Lemon Jelly...very 1970s though. One of best ever bakes was a proper full on Black Forest Gateaux, egg less sponge, made my own Cherry Brandy, chocolate curls, it was ace, took me ages, shame it was before the days of mobile phones, might have been before FB even...

I have sourced a batch of yeast, still going ahead with strudel at the end of the week though.
