After an initial stage of eating too much of the cakes and bakes, I'm now adjusting and am more reasonable in my (our) consumption. I'm relived, tbh, as I'm enjoying baking but less happy about the increasing weight. I'm hoping to find a happy balance.

All the pictures of your lovely bread are making me very jealous.
idle_wilder - Gypsy Tart is a strange combination of full fat evaporated milk chilled overnight and an equal quantity of dark brown muscovado beaten together for at least fifteen minutes then baked for about ten minutes.

LMH - i love gypsy tart... only recently found out it isn’t a standard/staple foodstuff known by everyone - i grew up in Kent and it was frequently on the school dinner menu

We had gypsy tart at school in the 70’s. I suspect it fell by the wayside due to it’s frankly unacceptable name - either now called something else or consigned to oblivion - that’s probably why the youngsters don’t know of it
