That’s well remembered organised C. Cake making :-) I made Nigel slaters stollen recipe last year, it went down well with just the 2 of us that like marzipan, but then we’d eat it any old way. I was eyeing up marzipan sweets yesterday that included stuffing it into dates, my Mum did the a frighteningly long time ago.

Mum always did puddings in bulk to save time the following year, when it was even better.
Cheese scones just out of oven, cold weather has me baking 😂 Fudge is on the plan too

From page 137:

175g butter
280g golden syrup
225g mincemeat
Grated zest of 2 oranges
Large handful raisins (I forgot these)
425g porridge oats

Oven 170

Melt butter and syrup, then add everything else. If mixture too sloppy add more porridge.

Turn into lined swiss roll tin and bake for 15-20.

May try this for Dec 23rd parkrun.

Now I remember my puddings are two years old! Too late to make another so we'll just have to risk it. It won't be for Christmas Day anyway, as MiL informed me she'd ordered everything from M&S and didn't need any contributions from me.
