Ooh! Yes. Thanks for the reminder. Mr Ness will be glued to this over the weekend. I wonder how the Stoltman brothers will get on this time!

Thanks. Mr Ness has put it on our TV and he's found a way to scroll it back so we're watching a bit that happened a while ago.

I'm more interested in the CrossFit than the Strongman but I just marvel at what the big guys can do.

Mr Ness is more interested in the strongman events. I'll try and catch up up with the cross fit tomorrow.

Interestingly he's left it on even though we've never watched it before. 'Seat at the bar' looks brutal!

I think we've mentioned Hyrox on here before, and Maclennane's and my vague plan to do a doubles event in the spring?

Today I did a bit of training with Hyrox specifically in mind for the first time. The session was:
1km run
1km row
1km run
50 Thrusters (25kg bar)
1km run
100 lunges (20kg sandbag)
1km run
50 back squats (50kg)
1km run

52 minutes and change. Runs done in about 6 minutes each so not fast by most standards but plenty for me inthe circumstances.

Nothing very heavy in there but quite a lot of volume. First off, I can tell you that my glutes don't like running after lunges, and my quads aren't very keen on it after squats either!

Otherwise I was quite pleased with how it went, but I'm a bit baffled on how I can record the 5km of running and 1km of rowing distance without messing up this session, or my average paces/ total times etc.

One of my mates is popping up to Manchester to do Hydrox in the new year. Never got to even think about a comp when I did cross fit as I treated it as exactly that, cross training,to make me a bit stronger. Which it did, but also heavier and in the end my running worsened ( crisscgit is power based, not endurance oer se) so, even though I don't cross fit, and haven't for 10 years, I pick bits out of it for strength.

As for that 5k, don't, it's 5 separate 1ks.
