Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I might be proved spectacularly wrong on the day but I don't think the problem is going to be the weight. It's the volume. 100 squats, just unweighted, is a lot. 100 thrusters with empty hands is going to make your shoulders feel it too. I saw a thing the other day where a coach was saying that for Hyrox the relevant strength target is your 20 rep max!

(And I'm partly saying this because I'm nowhere near your 1RMs and I need to feel a bit better about my weedy self!)

I did three sets of 15 with a 9kg ball this morning, and it was alright
It's 100 reps between us isn't it? I reckon we can do 25 each then swap

That’s true, we can split them up any way we like.

I'm still training but still not enough, I am getting in at least once a week

Various reps and weights but nothing low volume, strength endurance mainly

Tried 150kg sled push this morning, and it was OK. The boy managed it too, and he's 69kg. Oddly a high grip seems to be effective

How are your glutes, Mac?

I did a classic "Nellers has no idea how hard things are" session this morning. An "Out and back chipper":
60 abmat sit ups
50 Slamball Cleans (12kg)
40 air squats
30 press ups
20 lunges (20kg sandbag)
10 Deadlifts 80kg
Then back up to finish with the abmat sit ups.

I should have known better!

Were you just doing heavy lunges, Mac, or high reps with low weights?
