I use Boardgameguru and Gameslore most frequently and I like to support both of them. My old favourite was Shire Games, but they closed a couple of years ago. Leisure Games is probably one of the largest bricks and mortar stores and they sell online too.
If you've got a bricks and mortar store in your area that you support, I guess you could contact them and see if they would send you a game.
Agreed - Amazon should be the last resort!

I see there's a Rules of Play in Bristol. Is that new?

I use Heffers bookshop in Cambridge - I think they're doing click and collect for the next four weeks. There's a box in our utility room with Zatu Games on it - hopefully a Christmas present for me!

I have got many of our games from other people on the boardgamegeek marketplace.
We have Dune and have played a it once, it's not bad but will definitely be better once we have a group of us who know how to play it and can get into alliances.
I still love Carcassonne, can be played well with two players and the expansions add things.
Catan is Mr Carp's favourite, but hard to play with two (one expansion does have a 2 player version, but we haven't actually tried it properly) . We got a lot of mileage out of it in the last lockdown with T1 being home for months. T2 point blank refuses to even try playing anything.
Pandemic is great because it's co-op and provides a nice change from our sometimes vicious Catan and Carcassonne games! We do need an expansion though.

We've got the Catan Card Game - which is a two player game. We enjoy it - MrsVJ more than me (as she wins more often than not) - but it's a very different game. The only similarity is that you throw a dice which results in you getting wood, brick, ore etc...
