Suggestions, please!

I want to buy a family/party game for playing at Christmas (none of that "no board games" nonsense here!) and want something along the lines of Dixit or Codenames. It has to be a game that is accessible to a wide range of players and so ideally in the German games mould (no advantage needed for general knowledge experts or those who are good with words, for example).

I have just been referred to Decrypto, which is a new one on me. Has anyone played it? Any other suggestions?

Ingenious is a great family/party game. Developed by Reinia Knizia and plays very well

Thanks, Footpad. It's in the back of the games cupboard somewhere and we haven't played it for a few years. Agreed, it's a good family game.

Decrypto has arrived and I have also ordered THE CREW: The Quest for Planet Nine as a bit of a light filler. The space theme will put half the family off, but I'm going to see if I can introduce it to our bubble next week!

Love Flamme Rouge. We also subsequently bought the Meteo and Peloton upgrades because we like it so much. But the base game is brilliant (well, we think) and will last you for ages.

I've just ordered a copy of Ticket to Ride for my Mum to "give" us for Christmas as a family present. Heard a lot of positive stuff about it.

Which one - or do you have to wait until you open it to find out?

It’s the USA one, I think.
