We got Articulate for Xmas, my daughter and I played against my son and his girlfriend. After 6 rounds we were well ahead, when my son said "you're getting more time than we are" There is an egg timer that comes with it, and we turned it over for alternate goes. when it was turned over for our turn it gave us 1 min. We turned it over for my son's team and they got 31 seconds. I've never come across a two timing timer before, and can't really see why it should happen.
Good game though.

I kickstarted ‘Project L’ this year and finally opened my copy at Christmas. Not all kickstarters are hits but this is a great variant of Splendor with Tetris pieces.
Splendor is a great game if not already mentioned?

Also if you want a filler game Geistes Blitz is great. Very accessible - don’t be put off by the name!

On a previous recommendation from here found a perfect copy of Formula One earlier in the year and have to my son for Xmas. Really intriguing game, will need a few more plays to get a full handle on tactics but enjoyed it so far!

iRicey - Splendor was new to,our household this Christmas and it's gone down a storm with everyone. It's a great "just one more" game and very nicely balanced.
