That’s great MrsS :) I forgot to say that we played it as 2 teams of 2, an adult and a teen in each team.

Me and the wife are playing "My City" at the moment. It's a tile laying game where, unsurprisingly, you are building a city. It's also a legacy game consisting of 8 chapters, each consisting of three episodes (and three episodes forms about a one hour play session). After each chapter new elements are introduced (such as new types of building, and new rules). It's really great. Very easy to learn, but with a good amount of brain work involved to perform well. After two chapters we are tied on 6 points each!

Just had a quick look on the internet - looks interesting. Can you play it more than once? There was some mention of sealed envelopes and stickers...

Thank, PO, that's a good recommendation. Coincidentally I was reading a couple of German reviews of it on luding.org this morning. On the "buy" list!

You can play it again, but not as the legacy version. The board is double sided with the flip side being an “eternal” version. We haven’t tried that yet.

I do enjoy a legacy game. There is a genuine excitement when it comes time to open a new envelope!

Really enjoying it as I say. My only minor gripe is that I think it would be better with 3 or 4 players rather than 2 (but there’s only two of us so we have no choice!). That’s because in a two player game whoever wins the round scores two points while the loser scores 0. At higher player counts the second placed player scores 1 point also. I just worry that in a two player game there’s a higher possibility of a runaway player, which would be pretty rubbish for the second player. Writing this out though, there is every possibility that could happen at higher counts too.

Overall, it’s a good game!

Definitely weather for staying indoors this afternoon and playing a game. Going to see if anyone’s up for another round of Flamme Rouge. What are you going to play?

We've had a request for Catan. Seems like our boys always come back to that our Carcassonne.

One of my favourite games is Mah Jong, shanksi also loves it but we have trouble persuading 2 sons to play and you need 4 folk.
