Hi Larkim. I've got a mancala board downstairs - haven't played in a while. Yesterday afternoon was given over to Pandemic. Been enjoying playing with 2 and 3 players recently.

I saw that report too. I know it as Ayo, and I have a hand carved set from when my dad worked in Enugu in Nigeria (although it's in storage at my Mum's house )
I tried downloading an app to play, but was sorely disappointed.

We need a Pandemic expansion, the base game is losing its playability.
We're enjoying Terraforming Mars though.

There's a few on the market, Carp. Not sure how good they are though - my friend group never took to Pandemic, unfortunately.

I remember that African game (or one very similar) being played in Tanzania in the mid-'70s.

I first remember seeing it being played in the black and white Tarzan films/series that used to be on on a Saturday morning. There'd be a couple of people sat outside their huts moving small pebbles around a series of holes scooped out of the ground.
