Well I did my first project joker run tonight it was a threshold run my target pace for miles 2 & 3 was 10.38. Mile 2 was 10.10 and mile 3 was 9.38! I was amazed. Mile 4 slowed considerably below my target of 11.30 as it as uphill and my left calf was struggling. It’s become quite tight and it ended off in pins and needles.
4.15m then I met my friend for a walk she had taken up running and was good at it but a case of life getting in the way she’s not ran for quite a while so we thought we’d for for a walk. It was a lovely way to catch up and enjoyed it. Another 4.1m walked.

Well done GG. I failed on my threshold run this lunchtime. Struggled with a warm up running into the wind, then couldn't get going with tight calves out of it. So I just ran/walked a couple of miles.
Having done a decent set of intervals on Monday, I'm not too unhappy with that. Might try a bid for a fast 5k at parkrun this weekend depending on the weather.

Well done on the intervals I think if you were going to fit one in intervals will be the one to do!

Well done
Which parkrun would you think of doing Scribbler? I need to get out to Whitley Bay parkrun in the near future.

Well mattglen, that's good start anyway. It should all come easy after that. It's a matter of getting into the routine, and the miles soon add up.
GG, well done on the threshold run. 10:10 & 9:38 is a good brisk pace.
I went for my long run this morning - 7 miles at my usual leisurely pace.

Thinking of Whitley this weekend PenW, although it looks like it may be windy. Hoping to make the Newcastle anniversary run which I think will be the week after too.

Well January is going OK at the moment, four runs completed for a total of 18 miles and still on target with my half marathon training schedule. Had a great run on Tuesday, no walking and felt really good including the hills. Yesterday felt a bit harder so took it much slower and back at a lower HR. Been looking on Youtube and found a few strength/stretching exercises that should help, and more importantly only take about 10 minutes to do, so no excuses to fitting them in to my schedule, if only a couple of times a week. Hope Geordiemum is feeling better!

I didn't run to work this morning, the weather wasn't great, I'm not feeling 100% and figured if I got soaked then went off sick it may not look good. So I will see how the weather and my lurgy pans out the next few days. I have also got a sore shoulder I think from Mondays class - dropping to bits.
