Morning everyone! Right. I am definitely in for this. My running for the last few years has been sporadic at best, and this is the year that changes. Have already been out for a pootle 3 times, so am ahead of last January already!

Great running guys and welcome Treacle we will keep you on track!
Still feeling crap here cough is subsiding but I’ve developed lower back pain and zero energy throat is getting sore again.
I have a yoga session on Saturday which I’m hoping to make everything else is cancelled. All I want to do is sleep and wishing I took a couple of days sick leave. Happy days.
I will be back soon though.

Get well soon GG. I hope you can make the yoga session on Sat, but no worries if not. I'll have to clock up a parkrun that morning if I want to stay on track to hit my 200th on 18th Jan, but I'll be taking it very easy.

Hi Treacle, it's good to see you. You've clearly made a good start to the year. I'm sure that you will really stick to it now. Sorry!!
GG, sorry you haven't been feeling well lately. I do hope you will recover well.
I have had a cold etc. for about 10 days now; it seemed to go away but then returned the next day. I'm still coughing and spluttering with throat congestion. However I only cancelled one run, as I haven't been really ill. My wife (GrandmaS) however has had a more serious and debilitating infection, and she has been very weak with it, and she hasn't run this year yet. Oh roll on Spring!

Hi all, I'm going to give this another go this year. Off to a good start so far, 4 runs and 19 miles. Sorry I didn't end up posting much last year as it ended up being a very difficult one both work wise and personally. Back in April my best friend of over 40 years died of cancer. He put up a terrific fight for over a year so it still came as a terrible shock when he finally passed away. Gone but never forgotten. This coincided with a really difficult and stressful time at work but because I was injured I was unable to run just when I needed it most. It wasn't until June that I eventually recovered from my injury and started to build my mileage again. I pretty much threw myself into work and running for the rest of the year and had a few low points along the way. By November my body had had enough and I went down with a stinker of a cold. I was so run down I wasn't able to fully get rid of it till Christmas after a course of antibiotics. Up to that point I was on for my highest ever annual mileage but finally ended the year on 635 miles (just short of my best ever, 656). We ended up having a really nice Christmas and so I'm feeling very positive and looking forward to a good running year ahead. I'm going to stick with 600 miles as my target for the year and see how I get on. If I stay injury free I can hopefully revise this up later in the year. Good luck everyone with your own targets and hope you all manage to stay relatively injury free. I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone gets on 😀 🏃🏻
