I’ve been checking in but everyone has been busy doing other stuff I guess rather than me fill up the page I went AWOL sorry I should have rang a bell. Thanks for waking us all up Ev! Great news on your mileage hope you’re all doing ok.
I have been on a spree buying 2 pairs of new trainers but then losing the will to run, I’m back to feeling run down and exhausted. Not good when I have a 31m lurking in 30 days time 😬
I had a cyst removed from my back yesterday so no running for 2 weeks - figured there was no time better than another with events in until November so I went for it. I figure I’ll get round my run in a fashion and in meantime I can try to sort this house out.

Restarted running after a lay-off on Sunday with 4.6 miles. As I'm on catch up, I'm going to try and build up my long run miles every five days for the next few weeks while the distance is relatively small.
Looking forward to my holiday run through some lovely countryside and coastal paths.

Was starting to run regularly again but a cold and seasonal asthma has stalled running again - anyone else suffering with their breathing at the moment?

Header updated with rest of the year races. If you have anything but it’s not on the list let me know.
I’ve been feeling really rubbish lately nothing I can put a finger on but just feel really run down. I feel like I did in April/May when i was run down from all the training and running marathons. I’ve got some good multi vitamins let’s see if they help.

Just checking where I am in my target miles and I see we have a few who have already reached the 500 miles in 2019 target.
Congratulations Big Steve, Happy Cat, faithfulred, bish, and bagazz.
I'm tracking well ahead with 70 miles last month and a steady build up to Great North Run in August. My challenge may well be keeping up a decent regular run mileage after that

G'darternoon all. I'm still here, and still running, but my current total is only 325, after losing 2 months early in the year with injury. Yesterday at the running club I managed to ru 200m. in 44.4secs. - quite slow to many of you, but my best for a couple of years, as was my 100m. last week of 20.9secs. I'm quite chuffed, but my speed endurance has yet to improve.
GG, I do hope you get rid of your (metaphorical) rubbish. You may find that the pills help, but it might just be that your running is going through a bad patch right now. Make sure that when you go out for a run, it's to enjoy running, which is why many of us started running in the first place.

Ev you are so good and that is fast for me so take the win!
Also thanks for the wise words, I have said to a friend today (who I'm doing Loch Ness with) that I am taking all pressure off myself, I enjoy running when I don't stress myself and putting pressure on to improve pace has just made me miserable not to mention getting niggles in my calf. Thanks again

Hope running feels better soon GG!
I've had a bit of a layoff too - achilles issue that is mild but persistent and can get sore sometimes when running. Inconsistent in that sometimes I can run 2-3 miles no trouble and sometimes sore from the off. It's really frustrating. I've started a bit of cycling at the gym (so unfit on the bike!) and will try a bit of run/walk to see if I can get running again.

PenW, as I have had 3 periods of time in the past 2 years when I have had Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Tendon problems, let me suggest that you either see a physio fairly soon, or get some heel & achilles exercises. I did the latter and it helped. I tried the Runners World website & also 'NHS Choices'. Regarding running, the advice generally given is that if the pain eases within a few minutes, then carry on, but if it worsens with running then stop & rest. Again if you get the pain after running, then give it a rest.

That’s good advice thanks Evangel. I’ve been doing some heel drop exercises for over 6 weeks now (have added weight/load in a rucksack too) and just added isometric ones yesterday on suggestion of physio. I’m just impatient! It is mild generally but persistent and variable. Hoping the extra exercises will help and also have had some massage and ultrasound which helped the last time I think.
