Well, first time out for a run since lock down today. Discovered that they've now closed all the forests, park and river-side paths that are my usual haunts. All because a few can't listen and kept meeting for picnics etc. Grrrrr. Still, one improvised child-led-intervals session (not v intense and quite variable!) later, I had a pootle. Felt good even if frustrating to confirm that everything is indeed now fenced off. Going to try and get out every day for a jog, since no idea which is going to be my last. Get out there people!

Well done, Snufkin. Glad you got out.

I was thinking about a weekend off but after being stuck indoors since last Sunday's race with my daughter who has a cough, I am even more determined to get out at the weekend. I hope that getting hot and clearing my throat occasionally won't get misconstrued for failing to self-isolate by the powers that be.

Well done for getting out it’s a challenging time for sure and so sad that places are being blocked off for exercising - where do you live?

But any exercise and even a different t type of session is better than none.

Off to the blue mountains today for a bit of a bush walk/hike. At least in the wide open spaces we’re ok.

Woop! Well done Eynsham red (how do I do smilies?!)

And oh, the blue mountains, what I'd give to be there just now. I went as a student and it was amazing. Enjoy Geordiegirl.

We're in France. Still officially allowed out for exercise, brief, close to home with signed declaration. They're cracking down because that privilege has been abused by a minority. But with 3 energetic, stubborn, kids, a bit of forest play was essential to our overall sanity!

We went away last week, but just over 50 miles away at Tenby, where we were quite isolated in a caravan, and ours was the only occupied caravan out of about 10 in our little cul-de-sac! We got some running done. It was providential that we had booked last week, because we couldn't have gone this week, or for some time ahead!

Last Friday (March 20th) was an anniversary for me. On that day in 2019 I had gone for my first run back after injury - about 2 miles slow running! For the previous 2 years I had had several periods of injury, first PF and then a couple of bouts of Achilles Tendinitis. So I think that possibly I've now come through it. Yet I'm sure all of you know of course that injury is always lurking somewhere in the background, waiting to pounce!

I've now reached a total for 2020 of exactly 250 miles - the earliest for a few years.

I’m glad that you had a good time away Ev.

Well done on your recovery from injury last year and return to regular running. Long may you (and us all) be injury free.

Hi gang thought I’d drop by to see how you are all coping with lockdown ?

Australia is still very restricted but hasn’t moved to full lockdown (yet). We have had a few stressful moments which is in a blog so I won’t go into it but pleased to say it’s feeling manageable at the moment. Our revised flight is now the 9th but we have had to hire a car to get us from London to home.

On running front I’ve managed to do a few it’s quite tricky to find any decent length runs without looping here there and everywhere and I swear a mile is twice as long here too. But all in all we’re having a lovely time and be sad to come home but it will be good to be close to family even if we can’t see them.

Take care all.

Ev glad to see you’re feeling recovered now, I remember your struggles with injuries and it’s good to see you getting consistent running in now too.

Thanks for your comments GG. I had been concerned that you might not be able to get a flight back to UK for months, so the sooner you get back the better - but do enjoy your last week!

About This Thread

Maintained by geordiegirl
*EDIT* in the current situation we are not entering races but I think we can still log any plans we may have over the coming months, whether it is learning a new skill, ticking jobs off a list, moving house(!), doing alternative exercise, aiming for training hours instead of miles, writing to family & friends, finding inventive ways to be together virtually or even entering virus races please fill in the planner and I’ll update this thread and keep our little social group going to share our goals.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
