Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Pretty much what I was thinking McG.

Yeah long tracks work in some cases if executed well but don't work when just long for the sake of long.

Might check out TNP as I have a couple of their early albums and liked them.

Normally I'd agree but NFR by LDR is the exception as I love every track and I don't think it would be better if it was shorter. I've listened to her new one once and it's pretty good, need to give it one or two more listens to see if I want the CD.

On NFR (her best record) but I'd still lose Doin Time, California, The Next Best American Record.

Hmm, The Next Best American Record is my least favourite track, but it kind of wins me over by the end. California is one of my favourites so that *has* to stay :-)

H. Hawkline is very good. As mentioned earlier by Chrisull can see the Gruff Rhys comparisons in places - Also at times it feels like Paul McCartney and The Kinks.

Boy Genius has some tracks I like and i'm getting more from it with each listen

Not new per se, but new to me: some Slowdive demos not on Spotify. Sleep, Bleed, I saw the Sun particular highlights.

H Hawkline reviewed, my second highest mark on here, yet some people dish out 100%s.... frowns at McG. I'd only give that to Pet Sounds / Forever Changes kind of greatness.
