Ok ok lol. But it's fallen between the cushions at the very least. Listening to the Natalia Beylis & Eimear Reidy again after several glasses of wine, and on the second track "Whistling Dust" there's only one organ chord, but you keep on returning to it, as it seems to get louder throughout the 17 minutes, wondering if it's actually being played or if I do, wedging a book between the white keys so as to accompany myself, while searching for that magical, out of reach something, it's as Dyer puts it (although listening to a completely different band) "Impatience prevents you from seeing — hearing — that what you are waiting for is already happening (not a bad test-definition of the avant-garde)." and "As the music faded into silence, instead of a rush to applaud, the audience waited, respectfully acknowledging that the altered silence was itself still a part of the performance." Tomorrow I'll listen to it, and go what is this painstakingly, mind numbing tedium, forgetting that the moment is everything. |

The Terminator
The new Steve Mason album is everything I could have hoped for and more. Best thing he's done since The Beta Band for me and I've loved most of his solo stuff. One of our greatest artists.

Steve Mason album will be getting a listen today. Hundred Reasons was pretty good. Not any sort of departure from what they've done in the past but good and solid and a welcome return since its been a while. Will give it another listen before I stick up the review |

Listened to 3 albums over the last couple of days. First was Fever Ray which MaT.T mentioned on here, that was my new artist of the day yesterday. It was a good record as was their back catalogue. Then I listened to two totally contrasting albums, both good in their own way. The Valley of Vision by Manchester Orchestra is a mellow indie record whilst Let's Hope Heteros Fail, Learn and Retire by Alice Longyu Gao which was an angry hyperpop record.

I had a couple of listens to the new one from The Latham’s, From Nothing To A Little Bit More. I really enjoyed it - bright, poppy guitar mixed with some obviously Northern England accented vocals. The whole thing made me very happy.

The Slow readers club's latest album - knowledge, freedom, power is very good and I'm enjoying it a lot. Fans of White lies, Editors and the likes would probably like it.
