The Terminator
I'm really liking Peacemaker by Vera Sola who just happens to be the daughter of Dan Ackroyd.

Heard good things about new Grandaddy offering too 🙏

New MGMT album out today also - they're the sort of band that, for me at least, would have a really great Greatest Hits album but each individual release tends to be 3 top tunes surrounded by 7 tracks of meh

I'm going to be listening to Gloom Division by I Don't Know How But They Found Me, the current band of Dallon Weekes formerly of Panic! At The Disco.

Other than that I'm not sure what else I'll be playing.

Crikey new releases have crept up on me.

Up until now, it's been Cabane and Gruff Rhys (both excellent).

But have been listening in parts to:

Kali Malone
Gercyz/Powers/Rolin
Grandaddy
Laetitia Sadier
Rafael Toral
Nadine Shah

Suddenly all of these 6 lps are available to purchase or not!

I'm mentioning Vera Sola again. First review in some time. Love her 🙏

First impressions of Nadine Shah impressive too though the themes are a little bleak for me 🙈

I listened to the Nadine Shah album today plus new ones from MGMT and The Snuts. The Shah was the standout for me by some way. And if you think that was bleak, the MGMT album, Loss of Life is themed on death and awaiting death. About as much fun as that sounds. The Snuts is perky indie landfill: you forget the songs even as you are hearing them.

MGmT is great on first listen, I gave up on the Snuts many years ago, awful stuff aimed chiefly at people who wear bucket hats and worship LG.

I need to list to Gen and the degenerates, seen them a couple of times and they are great live.

I'll give MGMT another try. It didn't sound bad just not what I was expecting. That's down to me though, I should have thought about why they named the album Loss of Life

As a spin-off from Joopsy's excellent Albums of 2022 thread fetcheveryone.com/forum/albums-of-2022-62537/ this is a new thread where we commit to listen to one new album a week in 2023. Allowing a couple of weeks off for life commitments etc, that's 50 albums in the year.
EDIT - new and improved (i.e. exactly the same) for 2024
