The Beth Gibbons preview single is wonderful, hints of Grizzly Bear in the backing too, so big thumbs up from me.

Not seeing anything this week on first look. Couple from last week I need to catch up on though. Next week looking good though with new IDLES. :)

Also looking forward to Idles and have been listening to the three advance tracks a lot in the last couple of weeks. Of today's new ones just Declan McKenna.

Just listened to TLDP all the way through and that's a big nope from me. As a big fan of e.g. The Beths and Big Moon, I thought this was going to be up my street but it very much wasn't.

Listening to latest album from Yosef Gutman, The World and it's People, this morning. Melodic, calming instrumentalist 'exploring Nigunum (melodies from the heart) Nice to have on in the background or to lose yourself in x

Northern Irish all-female LGBT punkers Cherym release their debut album on Friday. Bits of it are already available on Bandcamp.

I'm not sure what will happen with the band going forward - they were only a three piece to start with but one of the members decided to leave the muisc biz a short while ago.

Listened to a Last Dinner Party single "Nothing matters". Sounds like a poor man's post 2020 Abba, without the schmaltzy bits that make the post 2020 Abba a guilty pleasure. And without Abba's potty cryptic lyrics.

Vampire Weekend are back, turning into My Bloody Valentine "loveless" era on the chorus. Didn't have that on my 2024 bingo card. Thumbs up from here, I might forgive them that duffer last lp.

About This Thread

Maintained by McGoohan
As a spin-off from Joopsy's excellent Albums of 2022 thread fetcheveryone.com/forum/albums-of-2022-62537/ this is a new thread where we commit to listen to one new album a week in 2023. Allowing a couple of weeks off for life commitments etc, that's 50 albums in the year.
EDIT - new and improved (i.e. exactly the same) for 2024
