29. (draught) Weihenstephan Hefeweissbier Dunkel (5.3%).

I had something of a dilemma tonight- there was Pitchfork Golden Ale (which I could take or leave), Pitchfork Old Slug (the only porter I'm prepared to drink), Pitchfork Hop to the Prop (a special for the rugby, my wife was on this and it was very tasty), and Tiny Rebel Cwtch (a rarity in this town, but delicious). However, wheat beer is my favourite style, and this is one of the finest examples. Even though it is one of the regulars I had to have it.

Maybe if I'm on 49 beers on 31 December I'll come to regret it, but that seems very far-fetched right now - I feel i made the right decision.

5. Fierce Beer - Fierce Rhubarb. 4.6% rhubarb pale ale - interesting.

I have the IPA from the same brewery to sample tonight.

6 to add to my list...

- Kerel "Organic Pale Ale", 5% light blond with a clean fruity taste.

- Kerel "Organic Wit", 6.6% witbier with lemon and coriander.

- Kerel "Saison", 5.5% easy to drink golden beer with some good bitterness.

- Brouwerij Bosteels "Monte Cristo", 11.5% strong Belgian beer aged on sherry and oak for 11 weeks, vanilla, caramel, and a bit of spiciness.

- De Heidebrouwerij "Wolf Weizen" - 4.8% weizen, not the strongest of coriander / spices but quite nice.

- De Heidebrouwerij "Oehoe Donker" - 7.5% dubbelbock, rich and dark with hints of coffee.

And that takes me to 50 for the year so far. I think it will slow down a bit now as I want to cut down on the booze and try to drop a bit of weight...

I thought you'd had the Monte Cristo already this year, Sam?

Off to a beer festival tonight so hope to add to the list as a result (although I need to go and check my 'master' list as I may have one or two that I haven't listed here yet!

I came out to get food and fuel for our weekend trip. Wife says "Why don't you have a pint"
So, currently supping an East Coast IPA from S43 Brewery. Never heard of them, so I'm on their website. It's a lovely hoppy and cloudy pint.

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
