pint 18 St Austell Tribute 4.2%
pint 19 Mauldons Pale Ale 3.9
pint 20 Purple Moose - Dark side of the Moose 4.6
*pint 21 Greene King - Icebreaker 4.5% - a pale ale brewed by their apprentices my research tells me. Not a beer I'd seen before but I was in a theatre in Bury St Edmunds and the choice was somewhat limited as you might expect in Bury St Edmunds! It was OK but not one I'd be in a hurry to have again unless the choice was only that, Greene King IPA or Abbott perhaps :-)

And in my bottles/cans list number 15 is Wychwood Firecracker 3.5% (from the cheap shelf - used to be a pound but a bit more now - at Morrisons!)

Over the last couple of days…
Phipps IPA
York Guzzler
Bad Seed Guiding Light

Decided to only count what I have in a pub or as a takeout from a pub or brewer/cider maker… Not counting supermarket purchases.

Hopefully tomorrow will be Chants Badger Spit Cider 🤞🤞💜💜

If I only counted pubs etc I’d be on 0 now and for the next few months. In the summer holidays I might have a couple of weeks to get ahead of that, but I’d finish the year on "very few".

It’s horses for courses. This auld nag is counting everything. I like the fact the challenge is individual.

Agree Angus. My 'main' list is draught/cask from a pub/bar but we are fortunate enough to have two pubs in our village and several others that can be reached on an afternoon walk/bike ride. But I also have my bottles/cans list because if I see something new/different in the supermarket I'll buy it too. I have no wish to be the first on the thread to get to 50 but I hope I will get to 50 on each list by the time the year is out. As you say - horses for courses!

47 is a cask pint of Marston Pedegree very well kept. I did enjoy that. Not going out tonight and nothing new in the fridge.

I think I had Saltaire when we were in Keswick last summer? If it's the one I'm thinking of I remember it being good and tasty.

Yes, Saltaire offer some cracking beers and ones I'd always initially gravitate to when seen on pump. One of those scenarios of me not having a 'favourite' beer as such but knowing the brewery is always consistent.

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
