Yes - it's ticket only where you used to just be able to turn up on the door but certainly getting back to normal. Just waiting for BaronBR to finish work so we can head on down there!

Proof, if needed that drinking beer is an education. The S43 Brewery name refers to Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning who was born in Co.Durham close to the location of this brewery.

Sonnet 43 is the one which starts, 'How do I love thee? Let me count the ways' which could indeed refer to beer 🙂

It was a good beer festival. This is what I had (all halves I hasten to add)
pint 22 Afternoon Delight - Beeston - 3.7%
pint 23 Egyptian Cream (Milk Stout) - Nene Valley - 4.5%
pint 24 Black Lava - Watsons - 4.7%
pint 25 Peelers Ale - Tring - 4.2%

They were doing carry outs so we went prepared and brought a couple of pints home too

Local beer festival not going ahead as tentatively scheduled for start of April. No time to get it all together, particularly the beer. I'd have been happy if they'd just got a range of casks from local breweries and put something on. Ach weel.

(Last time, they were going through beer faster than expected, and a local brewery (Hybrid, run by an ultra runner, and a few minutes drive away) provided casks at very short notice.)

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
