Friday night travelling to the Lakes,

Jennings Cumberland Bitter - an old favourite which never disappoints
Saturday:
Black Sheep Finisher 4%, a nice golden pale ale, enjoyed while sitting at the edge of Lake Coniston.
Timothy Taylor Boltmaker 4%
Coniston Bluebird 3.6% nice to accompany a meal but not as good a I remember as my palate seems to veer towards more hop flavour.
Back home, I opened a can of Six degrees North, Omnium, a 4.3% session IPA which had lovely citrus notes and was very pleasant indeed.

i guess it’s not surprising how taste change, but at the end of last year I was going on our annual trip to Hull and I planned a rare visit to Beverley, I was looking forward to a Sam Smiths old brewery bitter from the white horse (Nellies) as I remembered it was lovely. Last visit was 2019 and since then I have been drinking more cans at home, as has everyone, and these have tended to the craft hoppy flavours. I found the SS very bland.

Late Weekend Update! I have tidies up my list which is a bit messy.

As you can see below, generally I go to a pub and have cask, even if it is just once a week.

57.5 Days of Pain
Had to backtrack a long way to find my last submission. In a quiet February I only had Becks, Becks blue and the Erdinger alcohol free offering. None of which count in my book. But I finally made my first pub visit of the year Monday:

Draft
Wildcat (Cairngorm Brewery) 5.1%
Skye Black (Isle of Skye Brewery) 4.5%

to add to:

Bottles/ cans
Loch Ness - Hoppy Ness
Fyne Ales - Workbench
Brewdog - Hazy Jane
Brewdog - Gale
Theakston - Old Peculiar
Fyne Ales - 20th Anniversary Ale (barley wine)

Oh, there’s a blast from the past. I might have to actively seek out a small bottle of barley wine this week! :)

Many years ago, when I was still at school, I played football for a team that regularly drank Guinness and Barley wine

About This Thread

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
