Jelly, thanks. I haven't done it before, but they had to move the location for this year and last year, due to permission issues. From a couple of comments from the organisers on their Facebook page, it appears they're hoping to go back to the usual location next year. This was mainly off road, with only a small amount of tarmac, whereas I think usually it is about 50/50 isn't it? This year and last it was in the grounds of St Giles Estate (a really stunning location for a race/HQ), which although I suppose technically it wasn't in the heart of the New Forest as the usual race is, it was still good event.

I can't comprehend the amount of marathons some of you do! I've be doing my 4th at London on Sunday.
Actually it's 7th if you count 50Ks and virtual, 11th if you count 24hr events - oh I have done more than I thought!
Anyway, keep running people and good luck to all of you running in October. The list I have is below, any more?
3/10 London Marathon - chunkywizard, Rog T, Sailor Steve, DocM 3/10 Chester Metric Marathon - V'rap 24/10 Newport Marathon - Oscar, SailorSteve, Big_G 30/10 Cockbain Track100 - jimmyx, jelly

There is no way i'll hit the target this time around...... the year started well but now i've no more race this year i've taken my foot off the gas and i feel like i need it too so i'm gonna be sensible and not push ...... i'll still get my highest ever annual mileage ........ maybe next year - well done all of you who are still doing high monthly mileages.

hitting the target is looking less likely for me now, but there is a whole new world after sundays marathon and I'm looking forward to finding out what it is!

Ridiculous mileage Jelly, bravo. I envy your constitution that makes it even possible.
Great work with the pb’s Big_G, they generally seem few and far between at the moment.
I’m on course for c2200, so similar mileage to last year. I’ve just about made it to the London start line (touches wood) in as decent nick as I can imagine. Maybe a bit lethargic and 3-4lbs overweight but as good as it’s been for over a year. This will be my first “non-niggled” marathon since pericarditis so I’ll be interested (understatement) to see how it turns out.
Best wishes to all, particularly those with events coming up this month.

Legs have felt much better this week CW although I am sure the hills on the Clarendon route will test them. Aim is to chug round and enjoy not keep staring at Garmin 🤔

Actually I’ve just booked a local marathon for Sunday to tie in with virtual London too! Then another one on 17th October, got a couple more events to squeeze in before Christmas and Flitch Way Marathon to book for 31st Dec!
