Two dodgy glutes Gus. I'm stretching loads and weight training. I'll run now and again to see if I'm improving.

Thinking about it I probably can't remember running without pain. Scary really.

I've seen loads of physics, they tend to sort out the symptoms but my regular physio has said I'm too tight generally.

I seem to have picked up a small strain in what I think is a "sartorius" muscle in my thigh - it came on slowly and is going away slowly. It's not actually stopping me from easy/steady running but I'm loathe to do any intervals or long runs until I've sorted it. Probably good to have some easy weeks before the long haul to Abingdon anyway.

Pains and hurts! My hip arthritis won't disappear..I liasise closely with my GP and my sports physio..medication helps to some degree but can't use anti inflams indiscriminately because I'm taking warfarin for life!! Doesn't stop me running but orthopaedic consultant who saw me early in the year wanted restrictions on distance. Bah! Am monitoring for twelve months to see if there's any further damage showing up when I have my annual check. Otherwise (!!) I'm running well with a short ultra coming up soon where I'm out to enjoy it and be social with a friend. Main target is a 24 hour race early next year.

I'm a hundred and a bit miles down after training being in the doldrums for the last couple of months. Need to get back on track or the gap will get too big. Still only 42 miles/month required, so not the end of the line just yet.

short ultra at the Conquest of Avalon yesterday...32 miles on a pretty hot day. Run didn't start til 11am because the other races, 50 miler and 70 milers began earlier; managed the heat ok after settling in but fell twice (!), got lost several times (as did others) and ouched by an electric fence! Checkpoints and overall practicalities were fantastic but directions and tape had been removed by irate locals in the Glastonbury area. Miserable lot!
My hip was no worse than usual!

That's a bit rubbish Torey, goodness knows why people feel the need to do that, especially in an area like Glasto
