A brief shower here yesterday but it's overall dry and perfect weather for running. Heavy rain due apparently.
Yeah, my arm was more achey after recent covid and flu jabs but the discomfort only lasted 24-36 hours. I'm sure it wasn't the jabs per se but rather the skill of the person doing it.
Only another short run today to make doubly sure I've recovered from the lurgy I had. 3.6 on trails.

A nice sunny morning, and a pleasant temperature.
Hope you feel 100% now Steve after this mornings trail run?
Ran a good pace hilly road 10k this morning, average 10.20 minute miling.
Really gutted that the GSR wasn't televised this morning. I used to run it every year until it became too commercial.

I tuned in hoping to see it too HS. Glad your feeling better Steve. I cut short my 12m to 9.3 as felt awful. Got a nasty bite yesterday which I’m keeping an eye on. Not going to dwell on it.

Heck, I hope it wasn't an adder bite.. unlikely ( depending on where you live of course). Horse fly bites can be nasty. Hope yours settles down ok LL. 5k this morning was nice but I was slightly deflated because my wife did the same as a recovery jog after her 16 miler yesterday. The trials of living with long time runners!! (only kidding of course).

We have adders in the New Forest, but I've only ever seen two in all the years I've been running there. We also have horse flies and they certainly do bite.
I can understand how you must be feeling Steve, when your wife's recovery run, is your usual run.
I ran 13k (8.08 miles) in the forest this morning. Making the most of it before it becomes boggy.

I think it was a Horse Fly or a tick very sore. I had to stop running as felt it bite and it was stuck to my leg.

It sounds like it might have been a tick LL. We also have them in the Forest. The bite usually leaves a red ring like a bullseye round it. They can be removed with tweezers, but you have to be careful not to leave the head behind. If in doubt, go to the chemist for advice. Hope this helps.

Oh no LL. Might be a horsefly. I have had quite a few ticks and never felt them bite. We do have quite a few adders round this way, very very rarely see them though. Think you would know if it was a snake bite. I would head to the chemist as HS said they might be able to advise.

Hope it's not a tick thing LL but as lesley says, you don't feel them bite. Horse Flies are horrible and there's usually a swelling around the bite area which can become infected if you scratch any itch. There are some other insects which bite . Worth popping to chemist though. I'm inching slowly towards the 1000 with 75 miles to go. Just another 5k this early morning as the trails became just light enough.
