Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Big applause for hitting the 1,000 hs and gg. My reckoning is I should hit it during the first week of November...unless miraculously I pull my socks up and manage some more miles.

Your running has been pretty damned good gg despite your back seat involvement. My check ups revealed nothing gg...so now I blame my trainers, the weather, my age and whatever other excuse I can find๐Ÿ˜‚. Thanks for asking.

Oh my sorry hillstrider I read back but somehow missed your 1000m achievement well done.

Glad nothing serious is lurking Steve just give yourself a bit of slack then come back fighting. Maybe a switch on fuelling? My mam (76) has started taking active root on her runs and said she really notices a difference.

Good to hear from you Lesley and GG. Good luck with your surgery.
Thanks guys but It was just a course PB but my previous best on that course had been 2017 so was rather pleased with myself. It is quite a tough course.
Good to know your tests were ok Steve. As GG says maybe it is the diet.

Good luck with your training for the Loch Ness Marathon gg and well done for your 1000 miles. I'm training for the virtual London Marathon although I haven't officially entered it. I will be pacing a buddy who has, and we will be running it in the New Forest. I'm also training with another buddy and she has entered the "real London Marathon"

Good to hear that you are running parkruns again Lesley, and I hope you get your 1000 miles. You very kindly set up the 1000 mile page every year, which is much appreciated!

LL a course PB is still a PB, so well done!

I ran a hilly road 10k this morning.

You're plodding nicely Lesley! 90 park runners sounds an ok number of participants, 470 in the local one here, half the pre covid number. Indeed thanks for administering the 1000 page every year.
Diet/ nutrition: I think eat a healthy diet although I seldom hit enough daily calories for an active person. I have "Huel" as well (awful taste but everything the body needs!). However I do suspect that I need quite simply to eat more to give me basic energy.
No "hilly" for me on my modest 4 miler! You're continuing to train well hs which is setting you up well for 26.2.

Well done hs, LL & gg. All good achievements :-)
And nice to get a tick back, Steve. :-) "Huel" sounds a bit too much like "gruel" for comfort to me though!

I can see the 1000 miles in the distance now - should make it by the end of the month, all other things being equal.

I don't think that I have ever had Huel before Steve, in fact I don't know what it is ๐Ÿค”.
We're trying to stick to the training schedule, and succeeding so far.

Thanks Marky! Hope you get the 1000 by the end of the month.

This morning's 14 miles was tough, a mixture of everything, so presumably multi terrain!
I just missed out on 40 miles last week with 39.2โ˜น

Steve, you've got to eat plenty to fuel your running, with the right balance of the food and nutrients. Brendan Foster is quoted as saying, "I eat the same as my wife - only more of it".

๐Ÿ˜‚ I remember Brendan Foster saying that Evangel and also saying that he would have a few more potatoes when he was in intensive training! I will "up" my fuel intake while I look forward to my two week winter break!

Huel is a complete food in powder form made from natural ingredients, no sugar/sweetener or flavouring in the sort I have hs. My son gave me a bag of it because I said I was trying to put on weight but I won't be buying any once it's gone. Yeah..gruel is the right word Marky!
10k was ok this morning, along trails etc.
