Mrs Bridgewater: I hear you about cold and droughty houses. One of the reasons for the recent treadmill running is it's at the gym and I can avoid showering in our ridiculously cold bathroom!
Ipswich parkrun today; there, back and a detour to see Portman Rd (home of ipswich town) added 10.1
Ytd: 48.5

Great running everyone.
I am still on the sidelines with this cold lingering.

I don't think I could tolerate the chill that you regularly experience Peter and Lesley! Lovely photos though. Well done again to the treadmillers, a sensible alternative when conditions are risky outside. Sounds as if it was a challenging park run morning hs but a super conclusion with cake! I find the low temperatures have affected my breathing too hs, didn't used to. Or I was blissfully unaware. Chilly temperatures in the house are the pits. Our rooms have dipped to 12c and 13c too, like Mrsb's. Having said that, when I was a kid it was generally expected to have frost on the inside of windows during the winter. Goodness knows how we survived! A little over 5k done with my wife this morning, nearly all ice now disappeared and nice to see the first catkins out along the river .

Ok so I know I am rubbish at posting, I have been part of this group for several years and have probably only posted a handful of times ...... I will try to do better
The conditions this week have been hideous but by some miracle/stubbornness I have achieved my longest training run since 2022 and my highest milage week since Chicago Marathon 2022 Hopefully this will continue as I have some crazy events this year.
Only downside this week is my left knee and right elbow are black and blue due to a fall yesterday. I can't even blame the ice because there wasn't any on that particular bit of the pavement I simply tripped

Ouch MrsB that’s cold. Is that Frimley in Surrey? I visit regularly for work might have to check out the parkrun route if it is.
That is certainly cold up north north it’s not thawed here all week I am going to go out later.
Well done for those getting out I’ve had an epic fail def loss of enthusiasm, good luck for the house selling and buying FF, are you looking far from where you are?

Very lucky with the scenery north of the border but don’t envy you the cold. Well done Peter and Lesley. Hope you’re ok Lorraine.
Should have run today but decided I CBA. Hopefully tomorrow.

Donnie1 - there should be a word for the feeling when you are in the lovely warm shower but know that you have to get out soon into a decidedly nippy bathroom.
Lorraine - this group is lovely and very tolerant of sporadic posters.
Geordiegirl - it is Frimley Green which is very near Frimley. It isn't my home parkrun (that's Alice Holt) but one I like to go to when my local is cancelled. Do let me know if you make it dow there and I'll try to come along if I'm not working.
Good running everyone! I did 8 miles today, with two ten minute blocks at marathon pace for my long run today.
