Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi guys! I escaped and am well! Thanks for keeping everyone posted Steve!

I struggled with connection travelling on the trains and didn’t want to be stuck to my phone at my friends house and out running I didn’t have phone out much due to the hassle of pockets being under my prison issue jumpsuit!

It didn’t go to plan we were aiming for circa 66m to get get 60 as the crow flies but one of the team got injured after falling trying to get out of the way of an aggressive transit van driver he pulled at 38 ATCF, my other friend and I carried in until our lift arrived getting 41 or 48.5 real miles. Happy with that as we know injured we had plenty time. I have blogged. I also have clicked over 1200 for the year.

Now I distinctly remember typing a message for this thread on Friday but seems lack of connectivity meant it didn’t post so apologies. I’ll say congratulations to @hillstrider & @steve45 and say well done on the continued running by all. FF hope your mojo comes back soon.

Off to Hong Kong on holiday for 12 days on Thursday I will manage some shorter runs but as long as I get my 100 for the month I’ll be happy.

Hope all is ok with your hip Loo

Arghhh to buttons and tech hs. Supposed to make life and activities simpler but maybe too much stuff is incorporated in our devices sometimes. You'll work it out for sure.
Pity about your friend having to pull out gg but overall a fabulous event to have done and I'm so glad you're pleased with what you did. I can't even think of miles like you've done without getting exhausted!
5k this morning and back to murk and damp. The week ahead looks pretty dodgy and I wonder if I'll continue my streak if it's too unpleasant. Fair weather runs and walks are so much more enjoyable!

I had a wild idea I’d run today but I’m thinking it’s highly unlikely.

Well done Steve and maybe keep bad weather days to minimum for your streak. I’ve never managed to maintain a streak sometimes think I should give it a try.

Amazing GG I can’t imagine doing something like that. Shame your friend got injured but overall sounds like you all had a fab time.

My hip/glute thing is ok ish thanks.
Well done Steve. A little 4 this morning to keep on the line.

Congratulations GG for your epic race performance 👏 A shame that your friend got injured and had to pull out. I have never attempted any race further than the marathon, but have run 15 of them, and have no intentions of running any more.

I hope that you have a great time in Hong Kong 🇭🇰

The problems with my new phone, fetch, and laptop seem to have been resolved now Steve. My laptop expert is coming round tomorrow, to set up the Garmin Tablet that I acquired whilst purchasing my phone. I've never owned a tablet before, so have no idea what they are capable of.

Well done for this mornings 5k in the murk and damp. The weather here is looking dodgy for the rest of the week.

It's good to hear LL that your hip/glute issues are ok ish. Well done for this mornings 4 miles.

I ran 5.37 miles in the forest this morning with Mike. It must have rained very hard in the night, as the forest was very boggy in places.

I only got into this streak thing because of another streaker . In some ways it's pointless gg but with current poor running it's at least a goal of sorts. I was shocked to see how my now 140 days paled into absolute insignificance with dozens of Fetchies having streaked for thousands of days.

Wise to take a break gg after your physical output over the weekend.
Didn't realise you had a hip/glute thing LL so glad it's ok ish today after a four miler.
Getting plenty of tech coaching hs!

Congrats @steve45 and @hillstrider on reaching 1000! I'm recovering from Escape from Meriden where I was sorry not to catch up with @geordiegirl but I did get to meet one of my heroes in the form of @fetcheveryone! And he gave me a rainbow Fetch buff I'd ordered which was worn with pride for most of the next 24 hours.

It was a tough race but I had a very good team mate Thomas (We were 314, Team Greigling) who needed very few stops (Absolutely key for a good ultra time) and had a very fast walking pace (Also key). We were the 7th to cross the 90 mile ring and the only pair to do so, ending up with the 9th highest distance overall. The hills in North London were a vicious way to end the event I have to say.

Very pleased to have taken part but it's also, most importantly for this thread, put me closer to being able to reach 1000 by the end of the year. I've now covered 847 miles (Not all logged on Fetch as didn't connect the Garmin until later in the year but it's on strava I promise!) so only 37 miles behind the pace with 44 days left!

I saw that you had got the pairs win @EdGreig huge congratulations you must have an incredible walking pace. Have to say stopping to a loo break was much quicker for Paul than Nicky & I! Not helped by wearing a jump suit skort and leggings!

Oops

Sorry we didn’t get to catch up too but hopefully there may be other times. We’re def going back next year.

I’m sure that 1000 will happen soon.

Trying to out all the running kit away and sort out some packing for HK but I’m exhausted.

Glad the connection problems are sorted @hillstrider and hope you and the tablet get on famously in time. Well done on your forest run too.

Thanks EdGreig, well done for your achievements in the epic Meriden race. Not far to go now for your 1000 miles.

Thanks GG, I'm afraid that in my old age, I'm not so switched on with all the latest tech.

The usual Tuesday Farmers Walk this morning.
