HS: thank you for the pics. It's always great to get a little peep into people's running lives. Steve: I'm not a fan of the treadmill but with OH restarting regular swimming I'm happy to join her at the gym a couple of times a week. Headphones on, podcast downloaded (Tony Blackburn 'sounds of the 60' if anyone is interested) and 4 miles later happy enough. My usual annual target is 1200 but injury at the start of the year left me on 50 at the end of Feb. Assuming I stay injury free should be 1100ish for 2024 which is pleasing. Ytd: 890.4 |

Great pics hs, indeed a lovely environment to go out in. Easing nicely towards the Escape gg, bet you're getting excited now. Treadmills sure have their place although I've never used one. Torey (wife) uses one now and again in the gym she attends ; she says it's easier running in the treadmill ( unless it's put onto incline of course!). Seems a good routine right now for you Donnie 1. Sounds of the Sixties.. nostalgia! 4.1 miles on undulating roads starting at 6am this morning to avoid traffic with schools re starting after half term. Still amazingly dry everywhere . |

I dont enjoy a treadmill but if the needs must then its better than nothing, my injured friend is managing to do 1m every day on the treadmill and has got herself a bike and doing 30min with some strength work, she was in the best place I've seen her since the knee stopped her running so long may it continue for her. I bought a heated attachment for my massage gun, she used it yesterday and went home and ordered one she said it helped massively. I have to say its the best thing ever. I am actually feeling excited for Meriden Steve, I have started to put out my packing so I will hopefully be organised as I am away with work tomorrow/Wednesday, boat to lock her up this weekend with a trip to London to meet some of the people I met in Jordan (so excited for this trip) then its off to Birmingham on next Friday (eek) for the longest day of my life!! but I get home on the Sunday then Hong Kong on the Thursday so a busy but very exciting few weeks ahead. Sounds like you are doing well after your earlier injury Donnie, fingers crossed for your revised target. Nice run to start the new week Steve. |

I’m tired just reading your post GG. Well done Steve. Just over 5 today on a mixture of road and trail in Sutton Park near my daughters. We’re looking after the children. Nice change of scenery.

Well done GG for yesterday's 6 miles. I see that your friend is using a treadmill and riding a bike. I went to spin classes twice a week for 2 years, following my menisci tears. I've never owned a massage gun, but Sarah H uses one and finds it very beneficial. Thanks Donnie 1, we won't be running in the forest for much longer, as it's usually just a sea of mud and water in the winter. I think that Tony Blackburn was 81 or 82 a couple of days ago. I remember when he was on Radio Caroline, at the same time as Johnny Walker. Thanks Steve, we're making the most of the forest, before it becomes almost un-runnable. Well done for this mornings 4.1 miles on undulating roads. Well done LL for this mornings 5+ miles on a mixture of roads and trails in Sutton Park. This morning was 7.34 miles in the forest with Sarah F and Mike. This afternoon was an appointment with the Hygienist. I've got an appointment on Friday for my RSV jab. |

I was an avid listener to Radio Caroline hs. When the pirate ships came along we ditched Radio Luxembourg.

208 metres medium wave Radio Luxembourg with a signal that kept fading. I remember Stuart Henry and the evil Jimmy Saville. Did you listen to 'Journey into Space' Steve , featuring Jet Morgan. We used to reenact it in the playground in Primary School the next day. I was 'Lemmy' |

5 dark miles after work. First night time run of the year. Apart from the fear of tripping, I like running after dark. You always feel you're going quicker. I'm slightly to young for pirate radio but was an undercover Radio Luxembourg listener growing up in the 70s. Have always loved all aspects of radio. Enjoy the various 'Sounds of....' shows on radio 2. Think Sounds of the 70s will be in safe hands with Bob Harris but I did love Jonnie Walker. Ytd: 895.4 |
