He wasn't a runner but he was one of our top athletes.... sad news that Geoff Capes has died.

Very sad news. He still holds the British shot putt record, and worlds strongest man twice. He was a master of the Farmers Walk!

Good to see the store improvements are helping the customers (and staff) hs! so frustrating when they do that, I love the Aldi have a plan that 'all' stores look the same, although I have found one exception in Huntingdon which blows my mind everytime i have to go there.

Couple of runs this week, too much time watching the Back Yard Ultra World Champs and in awe of Belgium with 3 x new world record holders! 110yds each...

Sad to hear about Geoff Capes, definitely a big name from my youth.

Not really very old at just 75 and a local boy to us in South Holland. RIP Geoff.

Every day you go out for a run Steve you get that bit closer to catching me up.

Well done Peter, good recovery after your op.

Good miles everyone!

I was out for a 5k on Tuesday, it was good, legs felt recovered. Then a solo head torch run in the forest this morning. It was warm but windy, I had shorts on.

The weather has been half decent for the school holidays for a change. Making the most of the sun before going back to work on Monday.

Also sad about the loss of Geoff Capes. Childhood memories of his shot putting in a GB vest but his personality shining though on shows like Record breakers with Roy Castle and with David Vine on Superstars.

Post marathon couple of trips to the gym so 2.0 and 3.1 on the treadmill plus once around my 5 mile loop.

No after effects following vaccination yesterday except usual achy arm.

Well done on a sensible recovery period Donnie 1.
Good solo five hs, you continue to keep up a fine routine and mileage.
😂 .... remember FF that I generally need two or three outings to match one of yours! You've got such ability to do pretty good distances almost out of the blue.
Only 2.2 miles this morning. Very mild at 13c but very damp and humid.

GG, they've moved stuff around again since Tuesday! Apparently, it's the first overhaul in 30 years, so they've certainly 'gone to town!'

Well done for fitting in a couple of runs.

Well done Lesley for Tuesdays 5k, and yesterday's solo run in the forest. I'm still wearing shorts and t-shirt.

Donnie 1, it's good to see that you are recovering from your marathon by easy exercise. It's never a good idea to do nothing, as everything will seize up.

Steve, I'm glad that you have no after effects from your Covid jab. A slightly aching arm is par for the course.

Thanks, I took yesterday's run fairly steadily, but put a bit more effort into a longer, steeper hill than the ones I usually do.

Well done for this mornings 2.2 miles.

The usual Friday Farmers Walk this morning. I bought a Poppy in the store from a man wearing all his medals, and he pinned it on. Unfortunately, it fell off and I didn't notice. I will have to buy another next time I visit the store, but I don't mind as it's for a very deserving cause.
