I’ve signed up to do Jordan Ultra Challenge next year technically an organised trip to Jordan with the minor issue of running 2 back to back marathons in the desert! May need to adjust my training to be a bit more sandy. Very excited.
Just a couple of miles this morning ticking run the sum along.
Hope you all have a great week.

Good combination of marshalling and running on Saturday LL.
An arduous Forrest run hs but nothing you can't deal with! Well on an upward curve now Lesley and what to say about a run in Jordan next year gg! What a treat that will be, plenty of time and no need to be overdoing anything just yet! Will your bunion op be finally out of the way well before that? Shoe goo. I've used it for thirty years, it's a spreadable goo that sets hard on wherever you need it. I get mine on Amazon but the price has escalated dramatically over the years. They used to sell it in local running shoe shops. Have to say it extends the life of my running shoes by up to 2-3 hundred miles . Not that there's much extending needed lately 😂.I did an FF (!)over the weekend because of the rain, I was all set to go this morning and the heavens opened so I did weights instead. Needless to say my green tick has gone!!

On Shoe goo... Does anyone know is it appreciably better/more hard wearing than the cheapo "Fantastic Elastic" stuff? The difference in price is very significant!
I've used the Fantastic Elastic to repair non-running trainers before now. Seemd to work okay, but they got a lot less hammer!

That’s amazing GG we want to go to Jordan but not sure about running there. What kind of temperatures?

Can't help with anything shoe goo or fantastic elastic wise because I've never heard of them before this thread. Some great running going on and something to look forward to GG. Very sensible Steve doing an FF. It was dry but windy this morning and I did 6.7 miles.

Well done Lesley for Saturday's long run.
Best of luck with the Jordan Ultra next year GG. Plenty of time for training for it.
I've never used goo, or anything like it on my trainers. I remember many years ago that you could get trainers resoled. Someone I knew tried this, and ended up injured
No Farmers Walk today, as I drove into the village for a haircut. I then drove on to the supermarket. It must be sods law that the bags were much lighter 😬

I have a cobbler in a neighbouring village who will resole and has done 2 pairs of my vibrams which has been fantastic as they just dont wear out (unless you have a bunion it seems).
I though shoe goo maybe something I could use instead as I do wear the outside of my right heel away readily but it seems more to stick a sole back together?

I spread the Goo on a part of my heels which wear down and before the mid sole is exposed of course. It is quite thick and spreads where needed but remains where you want it to be ; I make sure it remains on the shoe by putting sellotape around the back of the heel. It is very durable but I idea whether the cheaper other stuff is as good. I've just ordered a new tube, fifteen quid with postage but the last lot I had lasted a year . It will also stick things together!
We used to get trainers re soled hs and it worked out ok...back when we were in our early thirties!

3M, you're right on the price! Fantastic Elastic is a mere £2.59 on Amazon. The reviews are fair and at that price I may well try it next ShooGoo time . Whichever goo or elastic one uses it's really only for extending the sole where some people wear down excessively. My wife doesn't need Shoe Goo on her trainers as she obviously lands more evenly.

logging this morning's run I noticed I have my 2 identical pairs of vibrams mixed up - I mostly run in my old old ones but I've been logging the miles the wrong way round. So this week I will be going into ALL my runs and correcting the error. Shame there isnt an easy way to do it (I thought there was in kit, open shoes - show training but it just takes you to the training log) Oh well its keeping me out of mischief and its not quite bad I'll wear them until they fall to pieces anyway.
