GG, my sister isn't a runner, but she always carries an alarm whilst walking her dog in the forest. Thankfully none of our lady runners have had any problems, but there have been cases reported by lady dog walkers.

Well done for todays run. It sounds interesting.

Go go Pix! Well done superstar

I haven’t come across any real issues I read terrible books and as a result I’m probably hyper aware but I’d rather be safe than a statistic.

Fabulous miles again for you again hs.
Nice to see you back gg and having fitted in important miles. These double figure miles are out of my league.
Of course HR can't absolutely dictate running and I appreciate what you say hs . I did quite a bit of research into it all years ago and if I hadn't then I wouldn't have been made aware of my current issue. I wouldn't have been referred to a cardiologist if I hadn't been able to tell my GP what has been going on with my pace relative to HR and my cardiologist certainly wouldn't have given me a full CT angiogram scan. However and hopefully my results won't show anything seriously wrong.
Recent news items, at least here locally, have ruined my wife's running freedom; she doesn't do the trails alone anymore and that's where she thrived.

I did ONE mile this morning!

Thanks Steve!

Little steps Steve!

So after Bramley this weekend I'm going to do 3+ months of solid focus on getting in shape including lower HR walk run

Interestingly yesterday I was at 178-180 BPM almost the whole race but never "in stress" or wanting to puke!

so being at 130 will be a lot of walking especially on my commute to work where there is a couple of long "hills"

That is so sad about your wife Steve, risks are low but I’m always happier having some company in certain places although I wish I was braver to get out like some running club peeps who just head up into the lakes without it seems a care. I hope she can maybe find someone to run with.

Fingers still crossed for you getting your results soon.

Well done EP! That does seem to be a high hr during your race, especially if you weren't running "eyeballs out" It might be difficult to keep at 130 during your training. But see my comments below.

I hope you won't have much longer to wait for your results Steve.

I'm sorry to hear that your wife will no longer be able to run on the trails alone. It's a very sad state of affairs that women no longer feel safe running/walking alone.

Well done for another mile.

I ran 10.4 miles in the boggy forest this morning with the Monday Group. My average hr was 117, with a max of 151 which was during the first mile. There was a fair amount of walking /wading, so EP may not find it too difficult after all to keep to the 130.

Sorry I have busy to post on here in the last week.

Well done on the race Pix, also good to have a plan. Keeping the HR low might be hard.

You guys are doing great HS and FF, lots of miles there keep it up.

Hope things improve for you Steve, and you get your results soon.

As much as I love Amsterdam I don't think I would run in the centre on my own. Wish I could have gone GG.

It's really sad to read about women not being able to go and enjoy walking/running themselves. I am out on my own all the time and being in a quiet town always feel pretty safe.

I managed three runs last week. Had to cut my intervals short on Thursday though as I just couldn't keep them up. I did 6.5 miles yesterday in the forest. It was at sunset and it was beautiful, the sky was on fire.
