My wife has several running friends gg and of course when they're together they do do the trails! But she used to enjoy doing then whenever she was able until some local assaults on trails came to attention. I see several lone women on the river trails where I run, even in the early morning but I wish the world wasn't so concerning.
Yippee to having done 2.3 miles this morning! But brrr was it cold and I don't run fast enough to get a sweat up!

Well done Steve!

My run tonight was short and hr was 154 ish so much lower than “race pace” but I think 130 will be mainly walking to start with
This will hopefully allow me to work on strength and core and form as my iffy hip is still being iffy post running!

Great run there again hs and good HR.
My average HR was just 121 BPM and max 140 today. These are HR's that I could get some pace up with and sustain for ninety minutes or so. No longer, thus the heart scan stuff

Well done getting some miles in when you’re busy Lesley

And also you on your great run hs.

We’ll done on your 2.3 Steve and I feel your wife’s frustration I don’t feel unsafe where I live but I’m aware we have a rehabilitation centre for homeless men, when I was a child it was genuine homeless and they were harmless just went about their wanderings and back there for food and shelter. Now they are largely people with addictions and they tend to be in groups drinking and drugs and they tend to be in hedgeways and can venture to the woods as do some of the misspent youth from the local not so nice village. That said when I do run the woods/fells at night I really only see dog walkers but I feel more relaxed with my friend.

Talking of which woods and fells with my pal tonight which was lovely

Look after that hip Pix.

How are you doing Loo? Trust you’re home safe and that fall niggles are calming

Gosh I was wide awake at 5am, tried to get back to sleep but all things work was playing on my mind so I just got up and started work. Now at hospital for my chest X-ray and I ran down. Sitting in waiting room I could just fall asleep!

Got a few things cleared early though so can’t complain. Rest day tomorrow (we’ll from running at least)

Hope you’re all doing ok today.

Thanks for asking GG I got back last night. Exhausted managed a 5.7 miles today furthest since I’m not sure when.
Hope you’re ok I haven’t read back yet.

As for HR I’d have to walk to maintain 130

Well done Steve, gradually increasing your mileage.

EP, I think that you are right in believing that you will have to do some walking to start with to keep to 130. See my data below.

Take care with your hip.

GG, your run last night with a pal sounded good.
I hope your chest x-ray was ok?

Well done LL for your run today. I'm glad that you got home safely last night.

This morning was a hill reps session with the Wednesday Group. It comprised 5 reps with 20 metres sprints over the hill top on the level gravel track.

My average hr was 124 and max 150. The low average was probably due to the jog out and back, and the jog back down the hill after each effort. I was attempting to get my max hr higher, so perhaps I wasn't putting enough effort in. Garmin Connect advised the session was Unproductive, but I don't take any notice of that.

Thanks Hillstrider
I think it will be almost all walking to start with
I'm also going to up my weight training and try some HIIT
My next race of concern isn't until October so I am going to make a genuine and serious effort to lose weight. When I run I seem to mentally give myself the OK to eat whatever I like because I have run so by reducing the running sorry I mean training wiser (haha) I hope to bypass this
