Well done on all the miles being done by you guys, glad you are feeling better now GG. Steve definitely sounds like there is a bit of improvement, but the dizziness is not good.

The weather in the UK has been pretty miserable the last few days and is definitely feeling like autumn round here.

Been quite busy with work etc this last week. Getting daily walks in to pick the wee man up from school, its not far from home. He won't go home until he visits the conker tree and the park, got soaked on Monday. I have been running too, I did a cutback week last week and am RD at Parkrun on Saturday so my long run will be on Friday instead.

Any effort is an effort Steve and well done it will all help. Glad you're able to do them.

Hope the shop changes are positive hs and well done on today's run.

Sounds like you're settling into a routine with school pick ups with little man. Hope things have improved with the pain in the butt man too.

Definitely improving here, I got out for another run last night just a slow plod around the woods and fells but it was nice. Running with a friend tonight who has picked up a small meniscus tear, she's allowed to run but only flat, not too far and not pushing so we'll do a slow bimble and walk the hill back.

Well done Steve for this mornings 2.2 miles, but the dizziness is a bit concerning.

Good cross training Lesley, walking to and from school with the wee man.

I hope that your parkrun as RD on Saturday goes smoothly.

Thanks GG,only time will tell whether the changes to the store layout will prove to be positive. I've noticed during the last few weeks that they have a security officer on duty.

I hope that your friend is careful with her meniscus tear. As I've mentioned on here several times, I've never fully recovered from mine in 2017.

I ran 4.62 miles in the forest this morning with Sarah H, including hill reps comprising 6 minutes on each of the 3 hills, run out and back. A tough session as the hills are very challenging with protruding roots, and very lumpy underfoot.

Enjoy the conker collecting with the lad Lesley, the years pass too quickly and often then the conker trees are forgotten. Hope the long run goes well tomorrow.
Plodding around the woods sounds just right gg. Glad that you're feeling overall better too. Ouch to your friend's meniscus tear, move slowly forward then together.
What a session hs! Serious stuff. Well done again.
4.2 miles mainly along trails this early morning. It won't be long until it's head torch required unless I go out a bit later. I felt good today.
The dizziness is uncomfortable to experience but as long as I don't extend my run bits and refrain from upping the pace I'm ok. I know my heart is functioning ok ; the medication I'm on can lower blood pressure (it's lowered mine) as a side effect and ceasing an effort too quickly does the same thing resulting in dizziness.

I’m envious of your various runs through the forest, woods and on the trails.

I did my usual run to work via the promenade and the docks this morning but added a few blocks at the end to make it almost 11km. The weather was kind with the rain and lightening stopping 15min before I got going.

I’m feeling good at the moment. 50km done for the month already and will be looking to do some runs north of 30km over the next few weeks in the lead up to race day.

Hope everyone is in a good space and enjoying their running and life generally. Take care.

Thanks Steve, it won't be very long until we will have to revert our hill and interval sessions to the roads. We will still try though to run as often as possible in the forest.

Well done for this mornings 4.2 miles mainly on trails, feeling good.

I wonder if today's school children still play conkers, probably not allowed due to health and safety regulations.

Well done JackFW for this mornings 11k run on the way to work. Excellent progress, 50k already this month.

I'll let you know how we get on in Saturdays Winchester parkrun.

Steady rain this morning, and I just ran 4 miles on roads at a steady pace.

Well done on your runs everyone. I love being close to the forest, but I would like to be closer to the sea for runs along the coast. Work doesn't give me time to go to Aberdeen beach at lunchtime otherwise I would but it is not a pleasurable place to run, pretty boring really.

I was out this morning and first run with the head torch, always sad but it was a nice morning none the less. I even saw a badger run out of the bushes in front of me - never seen a live one before.

Four miles steady sounds just right hs. And in the rain!
Good that things are going well for you Jack and another good pre work distance put in .
How fantastic to have seen a badger Lesley. First head torch ticked off then.
Conkers hs?! Playing conkers is not commonplace anymore if not "banned". Last year I saw a photograph of children playing conkers with the wearing of safety goggles a requirement!
5k in rain and partly on trails was a really autumnal outing. Dark when I left the house and rain jacket on of course.

How wonderful to see a badger on your run Lesley I’ve seen one once it crossed the road in front of me it was huge.

We have a squirrel who has discovered our hazelnut tree so it’s been very busy the last couple of days. Wish it was a red but it’s still cute.

My friend I thought as she was ok to run it must be a small meniscus tear but turns out she has 3! Shes been running flat we went out Wednesday and last night she can hardly walk but she’s moved offices and is on 4th floor and up and down stairs multiple times a day which I think will be a big contributor. I fear she is going to need surgery she won’t take well to reducing her walking and running. I’m gutted I got the campervan with plans for us to have running adventures. I’ve told her to ring physio again and get the mri sorted.

You do wonder how we all survived given the H&S now remember clackers how we didn’t have broken hands is a mystery 🥲

Def embrace these years Lesley, my friend said the other day her son it feels like he’s been grown up longer than he was a child and he’s only 18.

Well done on the running everyone def starting to cut in must look out my head torch and get it charged.

You were lucky seeing a live badger during your run Lesley.

Thanks Steve, I think 4 miles in the rain was about right.

When I was at Primary school, nearly all of us were playing conkers in the playground.

Well done for this mornings 5k mainly on trails in the rain.

We have plenty of grey squirrels GG, but unfortunately, no reds.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend's menisci tears are worse than first thought. I resisted having surgery, but it took a long time before I could do more than walk/hobble. I went to spin sessions twice a week for 2 years which helped maintain a certain level of fitness. As can be expected, the over 70's running forum on Facebook has lots of posts re injuries, meniscus being one of them. Many of them regret having an operation, saying that the knee was worse afterwards. Obviously your friend will be advised by a specialist.

I remember clackers, but don't think I ever tried them.

Just the usual Friday Farmers Walk this morning. It was quite challenging walking round Tesco, with the rearrangement being even more confusing than on Tuesday. There was a lady in the entrance advising which isles certain products were in, and another lady walking round with a sign "here to help." I can imagine the confusion later in the day when it gets really busy. 😂
