Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Baron Not quite firing on all cylinders after yesterday's track session and serious DOMS in my legs from weight training. It hurt going up the inclines. Was pleased to inadvertently pace TZ to a good time and give him shelter from the wind. Nice course, and it was good to see runners going the other way on the loops. Good training run and a PB.

chunky Feel quite fit, not been injured for a while. This is apparently the new fast course, so I may be close to pb if it's cold or wet! I wouldn't bet on me though!! Good prep for Gosport.........first PB for over 2 years so really happy!! Cold day flatish course..

eMpTy Garmin time 1.11.48 which is only 1 sec slower than GSR last week. Didn't manage to run even pace as I hoped, also struggled in last two miles.

Heavyweight All being well this should be a comfortable PB as I have beat this time in several H/Ms. **update** Even better than expected, over 7 minutes off my PB am very chuffed.

RFJ potential for a Fetch PB Seem to be plucking them out of every race at the moment, my 10m PB is long standing 65:56 at GSR 2004 I think.

Was aiming for 67 in my dreams today and to get the second scorer for club again in the HRRL, at the Lordshill 10m, with a new route and cold blowy conditions, I thought sod it and went with the vest - Bold to be Cold....:-) and it was..... but the prep was not good with 3 pit stops and IBS before the start

The start was busy as usual and the usual slow runners were there too causing hold ups....!

Mile 1 - 6:32 and usual 1st mile chaos..... and runners all over the place
Mile 2 - 6:42 all is settling and know am in 2nd scoring place for the club already
Mile 3 - 6:24 a nice downhill section, and starting to pick off the faster starters who are now struggling
Mile 4 - 6:38, get passed so tag on and work hard
Mile 5 - 6:37 back ahead and into no mans land group 20m ahead and group 30m behind, realise PB is on the cards for the fist time as hit the half way in 32:54.
Mile 6 - 6:27 trying to close gap and open it up behind
Mile 7 - 6:32 same as mile 6 still trying about 15m now and 50m behind
Mile 8 - 6:35 CONTACT with the group and take all 4 of them between 8.5 and 9m
Mile 9 - 6:50, twists and turns and a hill, but pull away and gain some valuable places and build another gap
Mile 10 - 6:19, all out for the PB, know sub 65 is out, pass 3 more who are dying, like me but I refuse to show it on the outside, into the field and the recce pays dividens as i know have to go to the end and loop back, another place gained.

AND FINISH.... NEW PB 65:27 (by 29 secs) and a negative split and 86th Overall.

SuperSooks One second faster than GSR a week ago, so a PB JUST! - I could not have got so close to that time if I had tried. Felt lousy pre-race, stomach unsettled, feeling sick and got a stitch during warm up - this is usually a BAD sign! But felt much better once I settled into my running. I enjoyed the course and felt really strong until about 7 miles then by butt started to seize up - ouch! I was one of those flagging runners that RFJ was referring to! Nice to get my first HRRL race under my belt for this season and pleased to finish 5th lady.

TZ Oops... perfect weather, fantastic course and some metronomic pacing by Baron (thanks!) brought me a new PB, 30secs better than GSR last weekend. I'm very pleased, although this afternoon's 10-mile training run at MP is going to hurt...(!)
