57.5 Degrees of Pain Good day for me. Close to a negative split, finished strong, won V45 male 3rd (with 8 beers) and picked up a share of the team prize (with another 8 beers!).

bedlam_g Happy with run, felt I stayed strong to the end without too much drama. Was in a lead group of 10 until mile 9 when the wrong person went to the front and the pace was upped to 5.50s. Had to make the choice between the comfort of the group that could either break me or slow again, or back off and run solo with a safer pace. Went for the safety option and hope I made the right choice finished 6th overall and got the 1st V40 prize. Thanks to everyone who gave me support on route.

Cammy DNF after 12 miles, small calf tear now confirmed, race was going perfect with 8 miles in 57.03 so race plan was looking good and felt comfortable then the sniper shot me, tried to battle through the next 4 miles but pain became too severe and had to DNF for the first time ever, 2012 marathon plans are now shot to pieces!!
