Fat Boy Well done Baza on organising the race which is one of the best 10K's and best post-race buffet's around. Despite recording a personal worst I was still quite pleased with my run and accomplished my goal of sub 42 mins placing 48th / 304 finishers.

Debstir First time running this race. Oh dear! Triathlon training certainly wrecks your running (well, mine anyway!). Could easily have cried & jumped off the bridge in the first half, felt absolutely spent and both heels were really sore (new shoes time, methinks). Felt slightly better once I was on the other side of the bridge and my (unofficial) time wasn't as bad as I thought it would be so I'm glad I didn't jump after all! One of the best bits about the race was quaffing champers & strawberries after it to celebrate my pal's 40th, and the fact that she got race number '40' - cheers Baza, I owe you one!!

May Late decision to run this was at 8.45am when I woke up!!!3 choices-1-stay in bed under the covers,2-do my 12 Tempo run, 3-run the race,as much as I wanted option 1,I thought what the hell lets go and run!quick change and oot the door, race start felt good uptill 2.5k as was very fast, then sure my Go Faster Pants malfuntioned as lost a bit of speed going into 2nd half...may need to upgrade to new pair!!!!: )..hard course as undulating...pretty tired on 2nd half but picked up on last 2k.as slight downhill..happy with time: )1st lady..and 1st ladies team well done to Magoo for vets prize and to Plussing as Which, and Enigma for PBs!!!!thanks Bazza for a great event, nice post race buffet, yum!!

Quadbarrel I'm in good form, but not top form. Too soon after a couple of annoying injuries. UPDATE. Really enjoyed that, and not a bad prediction of my time!! Confession time to Baza. Ran using someone else's number on the basis that : 1. They were not going to run. 2. I was not going to win. 3. I was too late getting my entry in (was on holiday). 4. Ran last year and was one of my favourite races. 5. Better have someone running than an empty place in such a good race. 6. That must be enough ....

Big Al Widepants Got to have something to aim at. Creeping down towards 43.xx. UPDATE. How tough was that? There were downhill bits, but they vanished from the memory as we chugged up hill after hill. The long slow climb to the middle of FRB was a horror fest and as I jogged round the car park on the south side of the bridge, I knew how hard the return would be. A bloke in a Wee County vest was 50 metres ahead and I couldn't catch him no matter how hard I tried. Got done by a couple of chancers with 25 to go and then one wide-o with about 10. I summoned all my reserves and blasted back to pip him over the line and just beat the shame of 46. My splits are hilarious - absolutely all over the place from K1 - 3.42 to K4 - 5.10!!

jp105 Started this race well however after only 3Km my legs felt heavy and found it difficult to maintain a good stride. A brilliant result for our club with us occupying the first 10 male positions and first 2 females!

Enigma That was tough. The first 2Km s were fast and mainly downhill, from then on it was hard going. It was quite breezy going over the bridge. I didn't get the sub 40 time that I'd wanted, but I don't think I could have gone any faster today. There were 6300 points bet on me and I'm glad to say that it was another PB so your points are safa and I don't have to watch out for a lynching mob.
It'sthe Bute Highland Games 10K next week - will I manage sub 40K there?
Great race for Carnegie HArriers - first 10 men home, first 2 ladies home and both team prizes - well done to all.
Also well done to Baza for organising a great race.
Time is watch time at the moment, I'll update it with official time later.

-caz- Entry confirmed :D

I knew this wasn't gonna be a pretty event for me, 1st time I've ran since 7th June (Dumbarton 10k) and boy did I pick a tough event to return. Started off a little quick then battled to the top of the hill next to the train station. Downhill towards Inverkeithing was fine then I started to slow as we got onto the A90 and the slow drag onto the FRB. Just prior to the 1st pillar I was battling the evil voices inside my head and I succombe to their evilness and stopped running. Damn no will power to fight against it, then it was stop/start all the way till the return crossing and I managed to keep the legs working back over to the finish.

Thanks to Billie for trying to spurn me over the FRB when I started to wave the white flag.

Met Tigger & a brief introduction to Tasi's Lass.

Plussing As Which Well, the tired little leggies did me proud! Knocked another 30 secs off my PB and came 2nd lady. Tough course and weather conditions were a bit blustery. Really well organises race with fantastic post race spread. Well done Baza and co. A Carnegie Harriers whitewash with the men taking all of the top 10 positions and May getting 1st lady. Also got the team prize with May & Fabienne.
