wil e coyote Normally ran the Stranraer 1/2 in March - always the first saturday. However, this one has now moved to June. Looks like the best 1/2 in March and 5 weeks before London is perfect time. Don't know the new course but imagine if follows simialr to old 12 miler.

ChrisU Had a dreadful run. My ankle and foot were sore, and too painful to warm up beforehand. I decided to set off anyhow and see what happened. I ran with Paul Thompson of Helensburgh from about mile 3 to mile 8, then fell apart and dropped 11 places. Was about 3 minutes slower than I was hoping for.

bedlam_g First proper outing for the Mk IV version of Bedlam_g the 2008 model, chasis a stone lighter since Christmas and a much improved engine that in testing looks capable of a 1.20 half. Foolish overconfidence? There’s only one way to find out. ** update ** Almost 5 minutes off my PB. Felt easy running at a really steady pace for 1.23.30 until 10 miles when I pushed the pace a bit and managed to sneak under 1.23. Lots of great PBs today in almost perfect conditions.

Edmondo Perfect conditions on the day with most importantly no head-wind to worry about anywhere. Probably went bit too quicker pace over 1o miles and although I tired in the last couple of miles still beat my pb by 2 mins.

ClaireT Well pleased with my new PB which is a ~1 min 20 improvement since November, finishing 4th lady. Felt good right from the start and just went out with the aim of running as fast as I could for as long as I could. Didn't look at my watch. Struggled with dehydration from 6 miles to the water station after 10miles, then bounced back into life again tucking in behind training buddies until the finish. Good advice from Coach Kennedy to ease back on the training this week, nice one.

Russell M Only done one half before and have really upped the training since then so hopefully good chance of a PB here. Using it as preparation for the Alloa on the 23rd which is part of Motherwell's club championship :) *UPDATE* Massive pb for me, knocking over 10minutes off previous best! Started the race a bit apprehensive, wasn't feeling 100% so decided that I'd just try to run a steady pace in prep for the Alloa half. Didn't check my watch until the 6 mile mark and then realised that a sub-90min time was on the cards which spurred me, will need to check the data from my garmin but pretty sure I got a negative split which would be a first for me too! Thanks to everyone that bet on, extra motivation is always good!! :)

JulesR Nice and easy at 7 min miles (unless I decide to chase certain Fetchies) **UPDATE** Prediction King for once although there would have been no way I'd have got anywhere near speedy new pb-ers. Ran with Llamadance (congrats on pb) at 7 min miles, slightly quicker miles 3-9, a bit slower 10-end in a very pleasant well-paced run. Does anyone know a less scenic/picturesque finish area than this race? Bonus guest appearance at finish line by Applecross complaining about smelly runners!

Llamadance An unexpected PB, with huge thanks to JulesR for pacing and cajoling me around. Having had a bad cold from wed-Sat and a calf/hamstring niggle I wasn't expecting anything, but I saw Jules before the race and asked if I could run with him seeing as he was going for 1:31. First three miles were easy-ish and up to about 9 was good, steady running. After that I started flagging. At 11miles I knew there was no chance of sub-90 and got a bit down, but Jules kept me going. Picked the pace up a bit, but mile 13 was hard as shown by my retching at the end. Congrats to ClaireT & Bedlam for superb PB's. Nice to meet Bodo at the end, sorry you didn't get your sub 85. Enjoyed the route, but the finish is a bit grim.

ian9657 another new race for me, running as part of my Marathon Training but also part of club championship. UPDATE Had been injured with a sore knee and only decided to go through with the run at 6.40 am. Took my ibufrofen, fluoxerine, viper before the race but was still yawning prior to my warm up. Said i was going to run it @ 8min/mile pace but took a dextro tablet at the start of the race and stuck behind fella bellas and did the 1st mile in 7 mins, decided to hold back and did the next couple at 7.30 pace. Reckoned that if I did nothing silly I could push for a PB. Fatigue struck on the hill at 8 miles and I walked at 8.3 miles and took on some more viper. Felt a bit better and noticed when I started running again that Janet was not too far ahead, she pulled me round and I overtook her after about 12 miles. Strong sprint finish cheered on by team mates, loads of support throughout the race. Official time 1.40.28

Runningbug I paced Steve round his first half marathon great run by him well done Steve, I felt quite comfortable after the first 3-4 miles as I was frozen.

Dave_K New race for me this year. Using this as training for Lochaber. *Update* Enjoyed this run. Weather held off for the most part. Couple of showers. Ran the time I wanted. Kept even pace of approx 8 1/2 min miles. Today was more about steady running rather than a fast time. So all in all a good day. And a nice medal as well.

RunDMc My first HM so had no idea what to expect and got there a wee bit late so warm-up was minimal. So I was just happy to finish comfortably, let alone go under two hours. Conditions were much better than we had the right to expect and in retrospect I wish I'd pushed it a bit and aimed for 1:45 - felt very fesh at the end and feel like I could do it again today. Still, I'll know better next time and have just signed up for the MOK at the end of May,so I have a goal. Wish I'd done this twenty years ago.
