Really tough session last night which I could not complete. 20 minutes warm up into 12 seconds 960watts and 24 seconds 230 watts, three of those and straight into 15 minutes at 325 watts. Then repeat. I just about managed the first two sprints, ground to a halt on the third (erg mode was bad idea) and skipped after 6 minutes at 325w before riding the recovery and doing one sprint and about 4 minutes at 325 before binning the session with just 43 minutes done! Not sure if I was just weak or I was given a rather ambitious session. |

I had a period where I was plus 1100 peak and breaking a thousand for 5 seconds but these days peak might get as high as 960 but actual hold is high 8s

@Northern Exile I've had my wattbike since May 2018 and probably one of the best cycling investments I've made. I have a MK1 Atom with very high mileage ![]() If you find a way it really is worth it. |

It's nothing exotic I'm afraid MM. I have an old Tacx dumb trainer and also a Minoura V270. The Tacx gives the most accurate resistance in terms of relative wattage but it's noisy and the Minoura is silky smooth and quiet. When I first started using Zwift using covid I set a fixed resistance on it and used it for at least two years as a benchmark, but following some FTP tests on a Wattbike I realised that the resistance was too low and I was fooling myself, not good. So, I've gone up to the next level and that's slightly too high, but it's good enough. It means I focus on predominantly flat routes of course and have to significantly step up the resistance (guessing) if I'm required to get out of the saddle, but it's nowhere as good as a decent Wahoo setup or a Wattbike.
