All about chasing your own goals KS :)

It's a strange one, I have entered A races while a B cat and did so last year. Ironically I've been B cat racing this year for the bigger fields. I'm not winning so it's not cheating according to my rank but I will be happy back in the As getting my face smashed in.

I've done 5 B cat races, first one I was 16th and that was just lack of racing as I got the finish wrong, other 4 I've had 2 seconds , a 4th and a 5th.

I can't sprint so the breakaway is my way of winning.

As said previously I am stunned by the sub 5 min power of a lot of the Bs and the sprints are brutal, people doing 12WKG plus !!!

Not that i have ever sprinted properly but the most i have managed is around 4 q/kg for 30 seconds.

Running is supposedly my main focus and i am perfectly content pootling along on the Zwift. Being about the only thing that has time for completion for W/kg is the climb portal stuff on zwift insider i can manage the 2 w/kg completion times roughly.

Did a workout a few weeks back and it wasn't overly challenging so i'll do a actual FTP test some point later this month to see if i can set up a more accurate base value.

Dont really have a high rpm rate as never pedalled fast outdoors let alone indoors so i suspect with some slower improvements in that my power and speed will grow over time.

It's sprinting when you've already been at high power for a while that's the tough element. I've hit 12w/kg fresh (still under 700w at my size), but doing that if you've been around or above threshold is a different matter. You try to get out the saddle and your legs turn to jelly (or mine do, though I also know I couple poor sprinting with poor anaerobic capacity too - a miniature diesel!)

Harsh reality is I can ride nearly 600 watts for a minute but I rarely break 1000 in a sprint even when I hold 900 for 10 seconds.

My best peak is around 1100 but rare days to hold 1000 for 5 seconds.

I've not been on Zwift for 7 weeks and I've only done 10 rides in 20 weeks, not sure why I am wasting my money!

Anyway, the purpose of this post is just to remind me to use it or lose it!

Right after commenting here I hurt my foot/ankle in the gym and can't run for a few days so I'm now on a 3 day Zwift streak!
