ZA3 done here as well. Found it a bit similar to ZA1 again 2*30 secs free rides and then 2 * 2 minute free rides, except that the first was easier, because you didn't do the 4 minute *2 rides at FTP level. Which I suppose makes a pretty different ride, but still the lack of variety in the key part is slightly disappointing. The 2 * 30 secs ones are easyish but tiring, the 2 minute ones kill me, and in this one they seem deliberately calibrated to give you not quite enough recovery time from the 30 second ones. Kind of shows me I can sprint for 30-40 seconds, but 2 minutes I can't hold a sprint, and really it needs to be a constant 8 out of 10 effort to avoid blow up.

did you do the shorter version Chris? The longer one has a few more steps to soften you up and a bit more variety by the looks of things....

I'm fortunate that I have time on my hands and so I can do the longer rides and also fit in with the group ride schedule. I benefit from having a few folks around me in the sessions even if the majority of them is governed by a W target. It definitely helps the 'All In' sections but even then the final 2 min sections came in 50W lower than the 30s ones, I don't think that's anything to worry about!

Yes i do them in my lunch break. I'm doing rehab work on my arthritic knee in mornings and evenings generally, so there isn't much alternative. Plus I've never been one for cycle rides over 2 hours so my training is always geared to that shorter time.

can't argue with that, hope you can get the knee back to a point where you can get the running / zwift balance back to just where you want it.

Ta - it's getting better week on week, but it's soooo slow. Running 5 miles (upping it from 2) on Sunday wiped me out, every other part of my body hurt except the knee! Aerobically felt fine, but back, hips, all sore like I'd done a long run. It feels like have a bandage on the knee although there's nothing on it. I suspect from now on, there will be much less running and much more biking.

Any thoughts on the new XP and 100 level system? I know Gobi is at the previous max of 60, but I think most regular posters here are below that, and below 50 aren’t they (I’m level 48)? Full explanation here.

I am someone who is motivated by XP, but if I’m reading it correctly, it’s now going to be easier for me to get to 50, and onwards. It seems odd to make it easier, as it’s kind of moved the goalposts.

I'm level 56, but not really that motivated by moving through the levels (although in part that could be because the amount of XP to move to the next level is pretty big at this point, which looks to be changed in the new system).

levelling up doesn't do a lot for me but if it does for others and thus retains wider interest in the game then that's a good thing for all.

I also have millions of drops that I'll never spend. Shame they aren't transferrable to someone who follows the latest cycling fashions!
