If you do want to delete the duplicate on strava automatically there is a site called activityfix where you can do things like that, alongside lots of other stuff. I haven’t tried deleting duplicates but activtyfix knows where data is coming from, and you should be able to set up a rule for that.
I use activityfix for things like automatically naming my local parkrun activity, keeping a count of my marathons, muting Zwift rides that I’ve named warmup or cool down, muting runs under 2 miles (ie warmups or cool downs), automatically naming races that I do regularly, updating certain runs to workout, etc etc.
Ha, sorry, I’ve just read activityfix can’t delete strava duplicates as strava doesn’t allow that. So the point of me mentioning activityfix isn’t possible, but it’s still a good site if you want to edit activities automatically…
