Well I'll give it one go just to be sociable
I've downloaded the apps and stuff, but if it takes any hassle to pair up or get working I'll be chatting on discord but riding on a Zwift course!
Workmate has got a premium RGT account via a cycling club so we can join his meetups for free. If they switch to that I'll still chat for an hour on Mondays, but ride in Zwiftland.

I like that RGT allows you to create almost any course, and people decide to make the most dull ones imaginable! CTT have revived V718 on the A63 in virtual format, and last week I saw of a virtual bunch race on Pimbo - a largely featureless oblong circuit on an industrial estate in Skelmersdale, Lancashire! I do sometimes worry about some folks lack of imagination! 😁

Another 130km today. I'm quite enjoying the endurance group rides now I've built up the confidence to know I'll get through them ok. Nice group today, taking it fairly steady on the flats, pushing harder up the climbs but well enough matched that it was easy enough to regroup at the top and carry on riding together.

I see you heading deeper and deeper into the dark side, YP
I wonder how much Zwift racing you’ll end up doing too....

Trying out one of the training plans at the moment, not too much easy riding in this!
Running up against the limitations of my equipment though; plan called for three separate intervals of 90rpm/205W then 100rpm/210W (and vice versa, 210W/90rpm then 205W/100rpm) which was a struggle to coordinate with the right gears so just had to get as close as I could, erring on the side of being under-power by about 5W rather than overcooking it by 15-20W.

I climbed the Alpe yesterday - all easy as coach says under 125w so no hard bits (think I averaged 105 going up but the free wheeling down reduced the overall average!) I saw the YETI!! First time up and I saw him so no need to do it again tired today so happy it's a rest day

Larks, that sounds very similar to the one I'm doing - is it the Build Me Up program? I understand exactly what you mean though, I have found that it's tricky to calibrate against the resistance settings on my dumb turbo. I've found that the bias control on the companion app is the key, as simply one setting down in resistance makes it too easy and not even close to where I think my FTP should be. I take the bias down to 95% and can just about hold it on the full FTP efforts. That's about 210w for me.

Larkim, I initially had a dumb trainer too and I was frustrated with it for the reasons you said. Also, on mine the main variable seemed to be the tyre pressure, and I had to check that each time I used the turbo to try and make sure my numbers were consistent. If the pressure was down a few PSI, it had a big impact. Also, I have to say, the numbers it was giving me off of the dumb trainer were totally out (i.e., they were very, very optimistic!) in comparison to the numbers off of direct drive turbo, but I suppose if they are consistent with themselves that is something. From the game point of view, on one of the Zwift screens it is still saying my "best" numbers are from when I had the dumb turbo, and I can't get close to those on the direct drive turbo. There is a way of setting these figures which I'll have to do, as they annoy me each time I see them
