Finished TdZ this week. Have really enjoyed it somewhat to my surprise.

Usually follows the pattern of setting out as a nice relaxed easy/recovery ride. First quarter of the ride: find myself in a large group and up the effort a bit to stay with them for the draft benefit. Second quarter: Feeling warmed up, so start picking off a few people. Third quarter; hanging in with a small group all pushing each other along a bit faster than necessary. Final stage: full on racing with 1-2 others fighting to the line. Result, absolutely knackered and easy/recovery ride a distant memory :-) Why can't I just take it easy ;-)

Norseman series next. That'll be relaxed too ;-)

Cstar - it is a problem with doing events, I avoid ANYTHING that can get competitive on my easy/steady days

It helps to have no ego or at least be able to put it away.

What is the Norseman series...?

I’ve surprisingly enjoyed the TdZ and it got me on the bike when I might not have made the effort. All bar one ride was a fairly hard effort - like you, CStar, aiming to hang onto / beat a group.

larkim, I have used the 1 min ramp available on zwift as it's quick and easy. It's more for comparative purposes to check changes over time than to give an absolute number, so I don't care that it's quite possibly biased as an absolute measure. That reminds me, I'm due another next time I'm not too knackered...

When I was rowing seriously we did a ramp test but used 4 min segments, which gave long enough for stable blood and gas measurements. 1 min you aren't at equilibrium before it goes up again, so the interpretation is a bit more approximate (perhaps complicated is a better term).

Our usual Monday night work Zwift is going to be on RGT - my boss has imported the GPX of one of his local rides for us to do.

Meh!! :)
