Thanks but its just a matter of getting used to it.
The hardest bit I find, is seated actually getting my back straight.

Sitting up with a straight back (even with "straight" legs on the floor - i.e. out in front of me) is a signficant challenge in itself for me too...

Me too. To an extent this might be a Venus&Mars thing.

Yeah, the lower gravity on Mars would make it much easier to sit up straight.

Although I'm not sure going to Venus to practise Yoga is wise due to asphyxiation issues and the runaway greenouse effect.

For me it's the crossed legs, I have a foot stool rammed up behind me to make it work. I think my back is fairly straight on the 'half way lift' from forward fold.
I have noticed the nobbly bit at the bottom of my sternum is now detectable where it was not before.
Not sure if thats a good thing.

I struggle to sit up fully straight if I sit on the floor with my legs out in front of me (straight, but relaxed), and have the sofa behind me propping me up.
Even then it's a fight to not lean backwards...
Which might explain why cross-legged is a non-starter.
