I also hope it gets resolved sensibly but it is a full police investigation, interview under caution, do you want a legal representative present and so on.

We have started driving way out into the countryside (we already live in a pretty rural village but all the dog walkers tend to use the same routes) to walk Wanda on the paths that are not well used - one crosses a hideous railway main line where trains go through at 100mph no wonder hardly anyone goes there which is eating up considerably into our day 15 mins each way in the car twice a day and Wanda has not been off the lead since this happened - which long term I think may do more harm than good. I need to find someone with a large enough enclosed field like a stallion paddock perhaps to be able to give her a good run. Life is never easy with a rescue Staffy!

This is so awful for you BBL I feel really upset for you and its so not deserved in any way. I hope the training qualifications Wanda has obtained are taken into account plus the unwarranted behaviour of the woman involved.

This is such a different situation to the one your describe where to dog was not under control and biting runners.

One would hope the interview is factual and balanced and unemotional. I don't think you should have to walk her in any different places now than before, you need to do what's best for her but I empathise with you caution. I'm really sorry this has happened.

Crumbs, the police out your way must have time on their hands :-(

I know this is far from ideal, and I also know it is very unfair, but could you put a soft muzzle on Wanda to walk her locally?

My heart goes out to you Baroness, I know I would be in pieces if it was me. I understand entirely why you wouldn't want to walk Wanda in the village for now (I'd do the same), but it does seem unfair to have to go to so much trouble when she's well behaved and completely under control on her lead.
I can't quite believe it's escalated to this.... :-(

The muzzle we have rubs her nose and has made it bleed a couple of times (we use it sporadically - for example we take her to an open day at a local place for people with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour can sometimes be unpredictable). I have stitched some fleece onto the muzzle to see if that stops it.

I will see if we can get a different one too

Oh BBL what a worry for you. I'm sure sense will prevail in the face of the evidence. Have the police suggested keeping Wanda away?

Ernie has just met his perfect match on the beach. A beautiful black cocker spaniel called Jet. Despite a 40 minute walk and the rampage with Jet,he's still going bonkers in the living room.

Ernie sounds like the ideal companion for another black cocker spaniel called Jet :-)

(Fingers crossed for Wanda)

The police didn't suggest it - we took the decision to only walk her in more remote areas than we already do, so that we could demonstrate action we had immediately taken to try to ensure this wouldn't happen again (as well as being very quiet areas anyway we know we are walking in areas where that particular dog is not walked)... There is really so much more that I'd like to say, but I'm scared to put anything on a forum of any sort other than facts and what we have already told the police.
