The centre of my grid lies several squares from my home so how come my opponents always cross my doorstep on their first outing of the week?

I paused my Garmin while I tried to fix my earphones (failed) and then forgot to restart so missed a square. Easy enough to get that one but annoyed that GPS didn’t register one further away. Trace goes across just inside the corner but I guess it didn’t log a point in the square so have to make a plan to get back to it.

Coincidence :-)

If your home is only a few squares then it is likely, many people with be covering the ones close to their centre I guess...

The bottom right square is the one that didn’t register. I was one the marked trail (although trees always impact that sort of thing).

Try zooming in. Sometimes the trail is different when you are fully zoomed in.

Zooming right in shows me in the square, but I assume that’s because it has drawn a line between two points which happen to be either side of the boundary.

Oh well, just have to go back there later in the week :-‘

Yes PH. It looks like there are two gps dots joined by a straight line which goes through the square you “missed”. Go a bit slower next time...

Pothunter, you also have to take into account it's OSM mapping which is often only as accurate as the person who drew the line with their mouse, so where it is on the map may only be approximately where it is in reality.

I've gone around correcting many of our local ones (but I'm sad like that!).

I need to up my game my opponent and I are on similar miles but I’m being trounced! Think the bike may need a dust off.

Now who said this can get competitive 😂
