Just a recovery potter this afternoon before tea LazyDaisy ;-)
I think the cyclist ‘v’ runner thing xould (no pun intended) run and run...
I commute to work on my bike cos I have no car, but I’m also training on my bike so need to keep track of those miles. Virtually none of my ‘training’ happens in my square and I’m only running as recovery at the moment so they’re short and I don’t go far afield... I actually think the balance is ok, now I can see the logic behind the points and scoring, but I do know that I’d score more points if I ran more and bikes less!

Ha Westmoors you beat me to it ;-)

I'm still fretting that my Garmin is not good enough to distinguish between a run and a ride :-(

There has be some payoff from all those close passes I get when cycling to work, I would rather have rocket launchers than 2 points, but apparently they are illegal.

Sigh
I agree westmoors....but that said: :-)

The points thing to me is a bit of a distraction from the true objective, which is to claim as many squares as possible; on that basis, a cyclist will be able to cover more squares per minute of exercise than a runner. The runner can secure a bigger lead in the squares they cover, but is unlikely to cover more squares than a cyclist, unless they run more than their opponent cycles. Plus, I could cycle every day, but I take rest days between runs.

Given the option, I'd like to see three league tables to cover the permutations, but in the end I think the rankings will sort that out.

It seems that i have just lost my latest game but with scoring 0 this was entirely inevitable. Any ideas how to get my suunto watch logs onto it please. ...

But a cyclist is more likely to be outside of their square? I did a 60 min run within my square and got 53 squares. Yet a bike ride would just go in/out.

If I was keen enough to use the bike to cover more squares just for the game then I could equally do that running.

I tend to see the Fetch games as a distraction that sometimes helps me plan a run, but generally I don’t get too hung up on playing. If someone wants to put loads of energy into hoovering up squares that’s fine by me.

Don't forget that this is a kind of beta version of the game - I'm sure Fetch will refine it as we go along.

For my part, I have achieved my highest May mileage in the eight years I've been on Fetch, thanks to doing extra little runs to fill in the squares, so it's all good :-)

Yay Lazers-Dazers and Meggles. Well done both (and DM in the middle) :)
