Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

When did you last give blood?

Interesting, I never knew about the BSE/CJD thing. What about those of us who were veggie throughout?

It doesn't matter. My sister and her OH were, but their blood is still rejected.

I've got an appointment for Friday 3rd July :-)

It's very early though - 8.15!

Donated yesterday. Some new measures in place, like masks for staff and optional for donors.
More critically, was looking forward to coffee and biscuits but was directed through a door....
and out of the building! No refreshments because of social distancing :-(

My platelet appointment on Monday has just been cancelled as they have enough stock at the moment. Not as many cancer patients needing them which is slightly worrying for them. Next one booked for the end of July at the moment.

Oh Rob. How disappointing.

When I donated last month you got a glass of squash to drink at the bed afterwards and given a biscuit on the way out.

Must look to see if I can book next appointment.

My drink and biscuit also given in the chair. I had my usual orange club and commented how much smaller it was since last time. I remember that the advert was that you got a lot more chocolate on your biscuit but it's decidedly thin now.

Today, donation 100, started in 1987 when a housemate dragged me and and a few others to our inaugural session. I fainted, the only time, but have donated ever since. So 33 years on, another notch on the post. Biscuits available, no hot drinks and you were restricted to the donation chair, no mingling allowed.
