That Fetch has now signed up member number 110713, yet still feels like a friendly and safe place to hang out.

Don't normally pick flowers from garden to bring into the house but these had fallen over and would have died anyway

Vicarious joy. I'm dot-watching 11 cross Channel swims in the best weather possible with glassy seas. The person alongside LouiseJane II is someone who swims in the same lane as me (but much more powerfully!) and is achieving their dream today.

Very best of luck to your swimmer Helegant! Our friend completed hers on Wednesday and keeping up with the WhatsApp from her support crew and the dot-watching was fantastic, nerve-wracking, and utterly inspiring. I hope your swimmer has a brilliant crossing!

It's been another amazing day in the Channel. A new world record, and it looks as if almost everyone is finishing their swim in perfect conditions, all landing near Cap Gris Nez. My dot is now heading back to Dover.

There's a medieval house near us with a coffee shop and beautiful gardens. As can be seen in the picture below some of the benches in the gardens have gaps and then a shelf next to them

This is so that a wheelchair user can sit with their friends and have somewhere for their coffee :)

I think I got a bargain in Lidl today - a bag of 30 tulips and 20 narcissus for £6.99. It was the only such bag in amongst all the smaller bags, and had no price on it, but when the girl on the till did a price check for me it came up as £6.99 so who am I to argue? (Last week I paid £6.99 for a pack of 8 tulips at the local garden centre!)
